The food was amazing and the was very reasonable but the service was a bit lacking. I know brunch is busy but we were often low if not empty on water and had to ask for coffee refills as well. Took a while to take our order.
It was nearly impossible to decide what to order. Everything looked amazing. I decided on the Minaâs with chorizo. The mimosas were fantastic and the atmosphere relaxed. I truly had a wonderful brunch. Highly recommended.
Restaurant did not honor reservation request for outdoor seating despite taking and confirming reservation. We sat for 40 minutes before we were seated because the restaurant can "sometimes" honor reservations. We wish this were made more clear because we would have made a reservation elsewhere if we had known it wouldn't have been honored at Portage Bay. Good pancakes and breakfast, but do not expect them to care about your reservation.
Perfect spot for brunch before going to the Ballard Locks. Something for everyone, including the vegan in our party. Super busy on a Saturday morning, glad we made reservations!

The food was delicious. The setting in Ballard was light and open. We ate outside and it was perfect. The noice inside was too loud for us as our husband's wear hearing aids. I would go again.
Portage Bay in Ballard is our very favorite brunch place. Whenever we have an event or an exhibit we want to see at the almost-next-door Nordic Museum, we use that as an excuse to make the half hour drive from Mill Creek to Portage Bay. Their wonderfully generous and savory dishes such as Migas or Huervos Rancheros are egg-laden plates of goodness. Haven't tried some of the other tempting things on the menu, but we will! Their coffee is excellent and we've always been very pleased with the friendliness of the servers. In short, this place is simply great!
