An almost perfect bagel. Almost.From the pictures it was clear this is a hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagel. It was on Kenji's list so I had to try it out. The bagel itself has the perfect density and crust, better even than Rubinstein's and on par with NYC in that regard but it would be pushed over the top if it was traditionally baked on burlap-wrapped cedar planks instead of on cornmeal-dusted trays. Manolin peddles in wood and smoke and still has real (read: not smoked, only cured) lox, but the cornmeal takes me enough out of the sacred moment. Would love for this to change!
I would strongly avoid this place if I were local and over 50 years of age. Very ageist and we didn’t like being treated like we were invisible.
Fantastic bagels! Crispy and blistery on the outside, chewy on the inside. I can’t speak for the fish, but you’ve got the try the herb spread. It’s amazing on the everything bagel! There’s an awesome heated, covered patio with a fire pit, as well as lots of outside picnic table seating when the weather is nice. Great to grab a bagel if you’re starving, waiting in line at Sea Wolf. I find the prices totally reasonable, $2 for a bagel and $2 for the spread. I’m sure the fish is the pricier bit, but I’m more than happy to grab a $4 breakfast.
Really, really high quality all around. I came here for the fish, but the bagels were just as tasty and my expectations were suceeded. Fresh, handmade bagels, fresh fish, delicious spreads and sandwhich combinations and overall high quality ingredients. I really don't know what else to say other than if you appreciate chefs who put a lot of intention into their craft, you'll appreciate Old Salt. Plus the interior is cozy and they have a fireplace on their small patio. A+
The fish products are delicious and you can have it on a tasty bread roll. This is not the bagel I am looking for. In-line with other bagels in the area, it is too crusty and slightly underweight for its size.
If you think Einstein Bros Bagels in Seattle are good - let me tell you- they are the high school basketball whereas Old Salt is NBA all stars. 10/10. Amazing bagels, very warm and friendly staff and brilliant vibe. Strongly recommend!
Perfect bagel texture and toppings. Smoked salmon is great. Love their online order system and they fire up your drink order when you get there. Nice people. Cool spot to hang for a few by the heated outdoor space. I hope this stays. I loved manolin but it was a once in awhile destination. Old Salt is a weekly ritual!

The bagels are very good, fish is fresh. Unfortunately the value is poor. $14 for a few thin slices of lox and not much roe… still hungry!
Outdoor seating area is nice. Food is good but not exceptional for the price point.
