The first time I came here was when I took my grandmother out to lunch (Dim sum) - the moment she told me it was her favorite place, I knew I was going to love it. The second time I came through was with my driver and his large Lincoln Navigator - we tried going to there other restaurants before I remembered Ocean Star has a ginormous parking lot! Who has parking in Chinatown?! Ocean star does. Now I returned for a sounders game and it’s still wonderful. Great food, extremely attentive and helpful staff, and I’ll go ahead and repeat the great food again! I had the Veggie foo Yong (thicker and tastier than others), veggie fried rice (tastier than others veggie FR), and honey walnut prawns.
We had ordered a crispy chow mein and the meat came out bloody. We asked if we could replace it and was advised by management that they will recook the plate. Knowing that if they did that, my recooked plate would not be as crispy. So to mitigate for them not to use the same food, I asked it to be soft style. We asked that they take the dinner plate as well that the meat had contaminated on.The manager with a loud tone yelled at the cook in the kitchen in Chinese. This is highly unprofessional and may cause strife with the cook that may impact the quality of food served (not accusing). Moreover, we had to ask for a dinner plate as the manager did not return.I would like for the restaurant to improve the customer service and management so that future restaurantgoer to not be treated with low professionalism and that the food is safe to eat without cross contamination.
Bomb food for a great price but 4 double whisky and cokes was 70$ ouch.
They have steady flow of customers. It's Cantonese food not Chinese and the chicken in the fried rice has a real gunny taste. I'm convinced it isn't chicken meat
First time ordering from here and was NOT disappointed. Food was very good. Portion size for the fried rice was enough to share!
Tbh this is the worst dim sum place I’ve been to in Seattle, cant even finish what we ordered. No wonder there are plenty of empty seats on a weekend even though they have their own parking lot. Plus there’s no service at all
Went here when we really wanted dim sum with no wait or frills. Pretty basic menu, but they didn’t have rice noodles/rolls when we came. That was the only downside. Chili oil had good flavor and everything came out fast. I’ll most likely go again if my usual go-to isn’t so busy.
I don't normally give a 3 star review but but this place really needs a good cleaning good cleaning. The windows are disaster inside and out and the interior could use cleaning as well. The food was great the service was fair.
Love Ocean Star!! Staff is fantastic and always attentive and helpful. Food is good, drinks are fantastic. Best place to go for pregame drinks and food.
My most visited dim sum place, around average.
