This is a very important fact when you are searching for a restaurant you can bring your dog to in chilly Seattle. The heaters really make the streetery really warm. Now for the food: we thought it was excellent! We ordered the bronzino and shared it. There was plenty for two and it was delicious. Our kids had pastas and they loved them. The owner is from Sicily so the authenticity of the food is apparent.
We had high hopes. How can you go wrong with a little Italian place in lovely Magnolia? Um. When you walk in, it DOES feel like many of the little places we visited in Italy. The hostess/waitress was lovely, but it felt at times that she was trying too hard to "sell" us on more stuff. We started with the squash soup, which was just plain bland. Not good at all. For our entrees we had the special which was a crab stuffed spinach ravioli and the walnut cream sauce gnocchi. The ravioli was in a melted butter sauce. It was pretty tasty, but you only got 5 ravioli. (And they were NOT large.) It felt more like an appetizer. The gnocchi were not very good. The consistency of the pasta itself seemed like it wasn't cooked all the way. And the sauce, again, was bland bland bland. And walnuts? I think there was one. We didn't try dessert. The cost of our meal was over $120 for barely enough food for the two of us. (No drinks; no dessert.) The prices here are outrageous for what you get. I know times are tough, but this place felt like a rip-off.
Meatball is all flour taste (hard to find any protein) and most of ingredients you can buy better ones from the market. All dishes are disappointing. And compared to the food quality, its pricy. It was my eat out for the last three months and one of the low quality dishes I’ve ever had. Now I cannot trust the google score.
Absolutely incredible! The owner and chef is such a sweet and talented women. She remembered us from our first visit, and even the wine we like to drink. There’s always new specials and everything is made with love. This is the most authentic, fresh, and comforting Italian restaurant I’ve been to. I know I’ll be a regular here for a long time! 10/10 recommend
Ravioli Al Masala is my favorite dish, taste is unique and amazing, it is out of this world…. I love it….. Cannoli Sicilliano is amazing desert….
Wonderful! The staff is as welcoming and warm and their delicious in house pasta. Great wine selections and do not miss the homemade desserts! It's a neighborhood treasure!
If I can get them less than one star I will do that. The food was horrible and very strong unpleasant smell and no taste even the bread was not good. This was our first and last time to get food from them.
Mondello ristorante is one of the best Italian foods I ever had. The restaurant is very authentic and cozy. The foods is so good I can’t even decide what my favorite dishes are anymore! Both the mother and daughter are very hard workers. They also made very good desserts like cakes, pies, cookies, chocolates, etc. from scratch like how amazing is that!! The restaurant environment is very welcoming, overall I had a great dinner experience
The food was excellent. Nicely spiced appropriate portions. The decor is a small but nice neighborhood restaurant. They have seating inside and out with heaters. We ate there Sunday afternoon. They said they had had a very busy Saturday evening and so had none of their famous baked bread. Nor were there crackers or anything else to eat along with cheese and salad.
As a preface, I am of Italian descent and grew up eating home cooked southern Italian cooking. This being said, we ate here a couple of times recently. The carbonara was the first time I've had it, since usually I don't like cream sauces. It was outstanding, truly memorable. We also had the chicken al forno, which I found to be bland. The chicken piccata reminded me of why I don't like chicken piccata, as it had too much caper flavor for me, but that is just my preference and I usually don't order it. The Caesar salad was good, though over dressed, too much dressing, but the flavor of the dressing was very good. So, depending on your taste and expectations of Italian food, it can be hit or miss. I would go back just for the carbonara alone. I also found the tiramisu to be soggy and not flavorful.
