Reasonable atmosphere with a small amount of outside seating. I ordered the basic ramen with an extra slice of chashu and an egg, and we shared an order of pork gyoza. The gyoza were fine, I would say average. The ramen broth was creamy, looking more like tonkotsu, but lacked flavour. I’m glad I only ordered 1 extra slice of chashu as it was overly thick and devoid of any flavour at all other than that of carbon from being flame-charred before serving. The only way to get such an absence of flavour would be to boil it in plain water.
Ok food and ok service. I don’t feel anything stands out tbh. But it’s the first time I tried dipping noodle! Super flavorful and I love the texture of the noodle. A tiny bit salty for me. Everything else we ordered was good but nothing memorable. Won’t regret coming but might not visit again. Fair price as well. The homemade tata sauce with friend chicken is something new but not recommended.
4.5 stars but no rounding. Lots of Asian friends said it’s the best ramen place in this area.Their appetizer are pretty average, definitely better than most of the restaurants. The quality of the noodle are perfect, I will give 5 star for it. But their tukemen sauce are kinda salty and ramen soup are perfect good tho. And price are definitely not cheap, average $25 per person.Average feeling pretty good.
A good place to grab a hot bowl of ramen. I was expecting traditional tasting ramen but turns out to be a fusion. I ordered Black Ramen and the Tsukemen along with Chicken Kaarage. Chicken Karaage is Japanese style fried chicken and was delicious! I highly recommend this one. Black Ramen was okayish, but the Tsukemen was good, the soup was creamy and loved the flavours. Overall it was a good dining experience, the ambience was nice and the staff was friendly.
I ordered the original ramen and my guy ordered the hybrid ramen. The meat was soooo so good! The ramen doesn’t automatically come with an egg so you have to order one. However the egg was a little cold so I recommend breaking it so it can heat up better in the broth. The broth was delicious, thick and creamy! I added garlic and the red chili type topping. Such a good experience and really good ramen! Super filling so this is the place if you want thick and filling and a little heavy ramen (good place to go for a hangover). In comparison to ramen danbo; menya has thicker broth and super juicy and fatty meat, danbo has a lighter broth and closer to the taste of what I experienced in Japan. The gyoza was good too! Seared on one side and soft on the other. Super yummy ^_^ The wait wasn’t too long but don’t wander too far because they call your name ha
PHENOMENAL: hybrid (black and spicy) ramen, black tsukemen (dipping noodle), karaage.EASILY one of the best tasting ramens in the area. FULL of flavor, great texture in each noodle. Noodles picked up sauces for each bite. Karaage were a great compliment to the noodles.Slight knock: had some flies pestering us during our meal. :( Else, very sanitary with hand sanitizer at each table and staff wearing masks. Greatly appreciate the caution the restaurant continues to take to make their guests' experiences enjoyable and safe.
Tsukemen is great for the summer. Hybrid has black and red broth, so both fragrant and spicy, very strong and flavourful. The takoyaki has 8 pcs in one order, choose from 7 flavors. I would like to see one day they offer some option to do 1flavor / pc for the entire order, would be nice to try all at once :)
It's a solid 4.5 according to my husband who really liked this place bc of the food.Food was great! A 4.5/5!Value was 4/5Ambience 3/5Service is 4/5Things we ordered:Takoyaki - crunchy, delicious and comes in 8! We got the original. Craving good takoyaki, this is a good place to go!Tsukemen black - so this is their original plus the garlic oil, it's lovely bc if you want something to cut the super heavy broth, the garlicky taste helps..this was yummy! Really like it. I love tsukemens bc I can eat more of it vs ramen since I can just dip the noodles in and have that as opposed to taking barrels of soup with me lol. But this was a good solid choice got it with eggChicken Karage curry katsudon - I was craving chicken Karage so what better way than to get chicken Karage with Japanese curry and rice? This was also pretty solid. Good juicy fried chicken thighs + Japanese curry over soft rice. I added an egg. Just tied it all together.Service was good as well. Nice waitress! I say go if you have a craving for tsukemen, takoyaki and curry dons.
Best ramen spot in Seattle. Black Ramen (Garlic & Sesame broth) was fantastic. Takoyaki is a must try side dish.
Their prices *do not* match their website. Wanted to start my review with that since it feels a little bit and switchy - I debated removing a star for that, but the food and service is really quite good. I have attached images of their updated pricing (around $3 more).I got the large original ramen which has a tonkotsu broth, noodles, bean sprouts, spinach, mushrooms, and a single slice of chashu pork. While I would have preferred menma instead of one of the included toppings ($1.75 if you want to add it), it was still very good. The broth was rich and creamy, noodles firm, and overall great flavor. The chashu was a little firm, but not dry and the fat was rendered so it melted in your mouth.Service was friendly and food was out shockingly fast (for the states at least, ramen should be fast). Overall would recommend!
