I asked the person taking orders for the bestselling sandwich recommendation... and it was disgusting. For how long I waited (+20 mins) the meat was tainted and did not taste fresh. The effervescence was like a soggy meat mojito. Barf. Never again will I spend $20 for a dumpster dive culinary experience.

This is THE spot for a sandwich in Seattle. Every time I've been the entire crew at Mean is fantastic, super friendly, fun to talk with, and helpful if you're not sure what to get.On top of the awesome crew, they always have the best music going, and the whole vibe of the shop just rocks. All that said, there's the food too! I'm working my way through the menu and have yet to find anything that isn't redefining what my expectations of a sandwich can be. The titular "Mean sandwich" with corned beef, cabbage, mustard, and a touch of mint is absolutely phenomenal. To go back to a word I used before, it redefined what a corned beef sandwich can be for me.The D.A.M. burger is the best burger I've found in Seattle, and in the running with the best I've ever had anywhere. The dry aged beef in it is perfectly accented with the pickles and cheese. Finally the "fries" are world class. It's like a crispy potato skin, that still has a nice tender baked potato texture as well.Seriously, mean is the business and completely worth a visit

Delicious! A mustardy smash burger that you’ll think about for days.A fantastic fried oyster po boy that’s perfectly crisp and not at all greasy.AND THE POTO “skins and ins”!Also, the service is lovely.Go here.

Really good sandwiches and “Salt-n-Pepa” crispy potato wedges. I’d recommend the Mandarin Chicken Po’Boy if they still have it!

Finally came back to Mean Sandwich to try their Fish Sandwich. If you like salty, bright flavors this sandwich is absolutely for you. Such a unique offering and it was truly delicious-- I can't say I've had a sandwich quite like this one. Thanks to 'The Stranger' for recommending this excellent sandwich! We also ordered their special, which was a Mandarin Orange Chicken Po' Boy, also very good.

I had the Mean Sandwich today (their corned beef sandwich), and, my goodness, that thing was killer. The beef wasn't shredded or chipped; it was thick slabs of delicious corned beef. The homemade yellow mustard was super good as well. The taters were delightfully crunchy, and the manager came out and asked how everything tasted. They had bottles of Topo Chico, so this seltzer fiend was content. You don't come here for the ambiance (although my name on the bag WAS really cute). You come here for the food, and the food fuggin' delivers.Well done, Mean Team!

Tasty and good volume sandwitches. We ordered "mean sand" and "sardine sand" with potato wedges. There are indoor and outdoor seatings. We usually order from the brewery next door. They bring your food the window at the brewery. My sandwitch is sardine, fried lemon and jalapeno. Very tasty sandwitches and potato widges are very crispy.Want to try other sandwitches for next time.

I'm a big fan of smash burgers, so I was really excited to try this place out. It's almost inconspicuous in it's location near a busy main road, but not at all hard to get to, but you might walk by if you're not paying attention.I got the double DAM burger with added bacon and a side of their signature salt-n-peppa skins, which are like potato wedges that are then deep fried like jojo's, but better, because they bake them first, ensuring a nice soft center in addition to a crispy outside. You can even get them dressed up and fully loaded if you'd like. The burger itself was so juicy and flavorful, charred outside and soft, hot, juicy center-- everything I hope for in a great smash burger. The service was great and the staff was super helpful in explaining the menu to me. I was told by others this is one of the best burgers in Seattle and I would agree. Everyone seems to be onto the thick fancy gourmet burgers, which isn't bad, but Mean Burger really brings it home with this traditional favorite. It was worth the trek. They also offer online ordering and pick up as well!

I love the Jersey Sub, and Mean Sandwich is literally a banana pepper away from 5 stars here. An Italian sub is just not complete without something to give it a little kick, and that something is notably not available here, at all, even by request. It’s a super easy thing to stock, and would probably turn me from a monthly customer into a weekly one. It really does make that much of a difference. Please guys…just add this one basic staple to your ingredients, I’m begging you!
