I have read mixed reviews. Our experience was great. Nothing to not like. I ate the duck, which can be iffy, it was very good. We had a view of Elliot bay at sunset. I liked our waiter.
How can a place serve PERFECTLY prepared potatoes, green lentils, green beans and carrots on the same three plates as near-raw sea bass, soggy Beef Wellington and duck "confitted" into a state of jerkeyness? Well, this restaurant somehow accomplished that feat along with presenting the most pitiful french onion soup and creme brulee easily surpassed by Jello vanilla pudding Average rating is being generous but is the only way to acknowledge the spectacular view, cozy ambience, killer designer cocktails and superior service that somewhat counter balanced the evening.
Although it’s important to know that this isn’t for your ‘cheap date’, the food, environment and more makes Maximilien worth every penny. The salmon special I had was amazing and the dessert was also to die for. This is definitely a top stop in my book; I recommend it for anyone in Seattle or anyone visiting and looking for a great restaurant.
We came here after a bad experience at another restaurant and it was later in the evening around 6:30pm - the service was fantastic and the food was also good. I had the Steak and my wife at the mussels - both were fantastic. The Waiter and service was very good.
We came here to dine in Le Igloo. While they have several options on their tasting menus, they say they cannot adjust anything (if you have allergies and such). My husband is allergic to dairy and when we were looking to book, the only tasting menu that had a dairy-free option was during the week-long mussels tasting menu. It was also the cheapest option but it still was over $80 for two of us. I kinda want to dock a star for their lack of allergy-friendly foods but it is a French restaurant after-all. When we arrived for our dinner, we were greeted by a French-speaking gentleman. My husband speaks French and so they conversed about our reservation & such. We were shown our igloo outside and it was fairly cozy & comfortable. I would say half-way through our dinner, we ended up putting our jackets back on but overall, it wasn't all that bad. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very personable and helpful. She made sure that my husband's salad didn't have cheese on it and was fairly quick at getting us drinks & bread. When you make the reservation, you pay for the dinner so unless you want additional desserts or drinks while at the restaurant, you don't get a bill. You have 90 minutes to eat and that seemed like plenty of time. They have a special light that turns another color when you have 15 minutes until your reservation is up.
Not enough good things can be said about this Seattle institution. The view. The cuisine. The excellent service. The Pike Place location. Biden yet in the middle of it all.
French place nestled in Pike Place Market in Seattle. Great menu, lives upto the French standards, lovely and absolutely gorgeous view, excellent service. They were very helpful with wine selection, making the food as requested and supportive of our requests. Loved it here. A bit crammed though, but that gives off the cosy vibes and has a super atmosphere
