This is a place for adventurous sushi lover. If you are feeling curious for some exotic sushi courses, do Omakase, and this experience is not cheap. Lost 1 star because the wait time was 3 hours for my Omakase course. Other than that, it was fun to try new things.

Had an amazing dinner her with my sister last night. Not often I get a fine sushi experience, but seriously had zero complaints about this place. I am a picky sushi eater and each piece of seafood I ate made me want to have more. Great service and our server made amazing suggestions. Can’t wait to return.

Sushi (of course) & Steve is the best! He’ll stead you in the right direction.

Ordered online . Was charged an 18% staff love fee on top of a mandatory 20% tip and an upserve fee. This is unethical .

They have fine print saying they add a 18% fee that goes to front of house but they also expect a tip (20% default). They hide this in the actual checkout process, e-mail receipt, and paper receipt (which all show different numbers) but the final amount doesn’t show up until your credit card statement lands. Check your credit card bill and you will find you paid a 38% tip. Not cool Mashiko, not cool at all.

Truly lives up to it's incredible reputation! We had the wild boar skewers, the bloodline tuna bowl, and the sashimi board in my picture, which was a chefs choice adventure, featuring so many delicious things, but the jack tuna and scallop were my two favorite, if I had to choose. Every piece was delicious... My friend and I were like, "We're not going to try and share every piece, right?" But then we'd each take one bite and be like, "YOU GOTTA TRY THIS!" Solid 5 star meal, from the food to the service. Excellent

As always excellent fish, sake, and service. I found myself in the neighborhood and they had room for one. It was meant to be! It had been too long! Exceptional attention to flavor. Thank you!

Great service. Fish so fresh. No two dining experiences the same although I’d do my recent visit all over again if I could. Excellent sake. Go there.

Kudos for the focus on sustainability, and much of the food we tried was tasty. However, BUYER BEWARE: if you order takeout on the website, the tip you choose will be in addition to an 18% "staff love" service fee. It is really not obvious that this is the case. Note that this is separate from the fee charged by the website ordering system. There is some fine print mentioning the 18% fee, and it will show up on your paper receipt. However: 1. BY DEFAULT, an additional 20% tip is selected for you on the website - this is on top of the 18% fee! 2. The email receipt is not itemized and doesn't even include your tip at all. 3. The total shown on the website order doesn't include the 18% fee. (Note that a separate fee charged by the website ordering system is shown, this is not the fee I am referring to). When we put on our sleuth hats and realized what has been happening, we called the restaurant to ask for a refund on the extra 20% tip. The woman we spoke to (owner?) insulted us and refused! We will be contesting the charge and warning everyone we can. We recently moved to West Seattle and were excited to have found a special occasion restaurant that we and our visiting family have spent hundreds of dollars on - and, unknowingly, have been tipping 38% on takeout the whole time! However, the hostile response from the restaurant owner has left a very bad taste in our mouth.

Im partial to any restaurant trying to sustainable about their practice, which is why we ended up at Mashiko. However, I’m not a big fan of sushi to begin with and in full honestly, since I avoid meat I typically get the rolls, so I’d take this review with a grain of salt. We ordered the Forager and Hayashi which were both ok. The Forager which is supposed to have turnip greens had the stems instead which were extremely bitter. The rolls were also coming apart, which made it hard to lift with the chopsticks without creating a bit of a mess.My partner ordered the Fresh Nigiri of the day which he loved, so potentially it was just my order that wasn’t as great.
