Live in the neighborhood and walk past this building often. Didn’t realize this place was actually open until a friend suggested it for dinner. The owner was kind enough to squeeze a party of 3 in with no reservation on a Sat night which is almost unheard of in Belltown. The ambience of the restaurant is the best part with the rugs and cool furniture. The food wasn’t bad per se, just tasteless and very muted. The Moroccan food I had in Europe was extremely flavorful with a variety of flavors and spices. This is more like a “Moroccan Day” inspired meal in a hospital. Would be hard to recommend without a complete revamp of the menu / recipes. Added a star because of the nice ambience / friendly staff.
We weren't expecting a 5 course meal, and wish we'd shared the meat entree (lamb tangine) as the portions were generous. But the handwashing before and after the meal, and the mint tea was what made it totally authentic for us! The food was excellent, not too spicy. Not a lot of choices for cocktails, but adequate. Service was great. Chairs were low to the ground, and decor was authentic. We'll be back if we're ever in Seattle again.
This restaurant has a nice relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The seating is very comfortable and you feel like you’re at home more than a restaurant. Very friendly and engaging staff too.The food you order is the main course but there are five total courses that are brought out to eat. I didn’t know at the time what the other courses were but that made the experience more enjoyable as I waited in anticipation to see what would come next. The main dish was lamb with eggplant and I think it was the fourth course in the lineup. Lamb was good and fell off the bone but the eggplant was a couple very small spears that left me wanting more.Overall it’s a unique experience that I would recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind trying something new. And they have great tea.
We picked this restaurant as it was halal friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Excellent ambience, authentic menu options. We had the royal feast. What I loved the most was that it was more about the experience, I loved that we washed our hands before and after the meal. We ended our meal with mint tea. Not to mention the belly dancer performance was a bonus!
This is a great experience dinner for small groups! It's a five course meal, you pick your entree and the total for everything is around $25-$30 per person and it's definitely worth it!They start with an amazing lentil/cucumber/tomato/lettuce salad eaten with soft bread, a lentil soup, and a sweet & savory chicken pie wrapped in phyllo dough (they brought out an extra vegetarian version for my friend so make sure to ask!).Then they bring your entree, there were about three vegetarian options (and my friend said the moussaka was amazing, it had gorgeous roasted eggplant (aubergine) and green bell pepper (capsicum) on it). They finished off with a toasted coconut pudding and honeyed Moroccan mint tea.Everyone at the table got different entrees and they were all excellent! They do use cilantro (coriander) as garnish so let them know if you're like me and it tastes like soap, but I was able to just pick mine off. ?
It’s an exciting experience to be transported to a magical world without leaving home. Food was very yummy, ambience very cool and entertaining
Great place to go. I always have a great time and an amazing meal
If you are in Seattle, I highly recommend you try this place. I travel for work and one of my rules is to eat at places I can’t eat just anywhere and to try cuisines I might not otherwise. I’d never had Moroccan food before so I decided to try this place out. It was the best decision I made in Seattle. The ambiance was great and the service was phenomenal. I had already decided what I was ordering before I arrived having looked at the menu online. But I got so much more. I was presented with multiple course. A lentil soup that was maybe the best soup I’ve ever had. Then an eggplant salad. I’d never heard of such a thing and admittedly was reticent. But I decided the whole point was to try new things and so glad I did. It was amazing. Next up was a pastry type dish that had chicken inside. It too was great. My main course of Tagine Spicy Lamb followed and like everything before was unbelievably delicious. Finally a dessert option which I initially declined because I didn’t think I could eat anything else. But I broke down and agreed and again it was a great decision. It was so good. I definitely recommend trying this place when you’re in Seattle. You will not regret it.
Very nice atmosphere and owners/staff. The spicy lamb wasn't spicy but that didn't matter because it was the best lamb I've ever had! Please give them a try. Their food is amazing.
Our favorite restaurant with my husband. Aziz always takes great care of us. The food is amazing. Each menu item is just delicious. Love the 5 course meal and the price is great. Salad is to die for - especially with the warm bread. The B’stilla Royale is so tasty and I'm glad they make a vegetarian one for me. Dream of going to this place again. We have 3 kiddos 3 and under so we don't get out often, but when we do - its Marrakesh.
