I have lived at Madison Court Apartments for over 5 years in two different apartments, a studio and a 1 bedroom. I live in one of the older units built in ~1920s and I love the high ceilings, big windows. and beautiful doorknobs. The location also can't be beat, walking distance from 2 grocery stores, countless restaurants, and several small parks. In addition to the cozy homey units, the building manager Kim Karas is amazing! Since she joined Madison Court I feel so informed and aware about our community. She takes care of problems big and small anytime. The rooftop, small green spaces, and garage all look better than ever and it's all thanks to Kim!
Here's the information from eater.com: Nearly three months after announcing its impending demise, Capitol Hill’s Little Uncle Thai restaurant is officially closed.. . This summer, owners Poncharee Kounpungchart and Wiley Frank revealed plans to shutter their popular 3-year-old location in order to pursue other projects and interests. The 760-square-foot space was for sale in the interim, but it’s unclear whether a buyer was found.
I have had a fantastic experience living at Madison Court. The property manager -Kim- has done an outstanding job of maintaining the complex and ensuring that it is clean and inviting. Grilling on the rooftop has become a favorite summertime hobby of mine. The complex is in a perfect location less than a 5 minute walk to multiple grocery stores, restaurants, nightlife, coffee shops, etc.
Neither my roommate or I have ever experienced a resident manager as attentive and caring as Kim. She keeps the property in beautiful conditions at all times and is always available to us, day or night, whenever we need something.
Had heard Little Uncle had good khao man kai, chicken rice, but found it like the few other Seattle locations selling this staple of Thai street food to be just average with a 2-dimensional sauce, and it is all about the sauce with chicken rice. Soup was lukewarm and served on the same small plate as the rice dish. Yet better than the neighbor down The Soi where they had this strange bean sauce and also a lukewarm soup. But really $14 for lunch and with self-service (บริการตนเอง)?!?
