Tried the rose lassi and sev puri. Neither was authentic. The lassi was tasty as a flavored milk drink, but not really a lassi as they didn't use enough yogurt, which gives the texture and sourness. The sev puri was a mess of many flavors; the green chutney was bitter and lacking heat and salt; the tamarind chutney was missing sweetness; the papdi weren't thick; sev weren't crispy. The dish didn't have enough vegetables.Plus was that the lassis can be made vegan!
This tiny restaurant sure l is filled with big flavors! The staff was very friendly / helpful in picking out foods.Good for quick bite, Indian food fix & some spice.Food was made quick to order.
What a complete joke of a place this is. Nothing is fresh. Everything appears to be pre-made, precooked, and stored in the fridge and then reheated as and when it is ordered. The Batada Wada tasted like masala potato wrapped in cardboard and arrived dark and somewhat charred. The rest of the food wasn’t great either. The mango lassi lacked flavour and the rose lassi wasn’t great either. Don’t be fooled by the photos and their tea pouring techniques. It’s all for show with little or no substance to their offerings. As for the customer Service, it was pathetic. We order two drinks with our meal and they completely forgot about them. Worse still the black lady with pink hair thought it was perfectly ok to put her head down and ruffled her pink coloured locks right in front of customers eating. Furthermore without even washing her hands she thought it was ok to go back behind the counter and serve herself a drink and touch cups lids with her filthy hands. Absolutely disgusting. There was no regard for health and safety let alone food hygiene bad basic manners. Finally we paid. $45.40 for what little we ordered and the accompanying pantomime of a service we endured. This place is extremely overpriced and very cheap tasting food. Avoid at all cost.
Turmeric latte and poha made my Sunday. The small cafes has a very authentic feel to it and this wont disappoint you. Try the masala chai if you like chai/tea.
Nice place for indian breakfast. I would say test was good.
Nice little spot. Kind workers who will help you say what you wish to order… because I couldn’t pronounce half the items on the menu. Quick service. Beautiful aesthetics. I walked here because I knew there was only street parking.
Excellent Lassi and filling! I really enjoyed the Samosa Chaat, which was a little spicy but great. I can't wait to try some more menu items.I can't understand some of the1 star reviews. I believe those customers are expecting 100% authenticity; however, this is Seattle, and there is a wide variety of cultures, people, and fusion cuisines.
They aren’t the typical Indian restaurant found all across America. In India they would perhaps be referred to more as a “snack center” rather than a “restaurant”. The owner has identified an eclectic mix of Indian snacks and beverages to put on her menu. I absolutely love the paneer samosas, which they unfortunately only make once in a blue moon. The regular samosas are good too. I’ve also tried their other small plates such as upma and vada pao. The chai is okay but I feel they could improve upon it. They could also consider adding a few snacks/desserts using semolina/sooji which will go nicely with their existing menu.
I visited this place when dine in was open. I had idli, vada, sambar and gulab jamun. Sambar and gulab jamun were tasty. Idli was hard and off white which indicated that batter was stale. Vada was small, tasteless, hard and bland. The tiny amount of coconut chutney was tasteless and not fresh. Their food is prepared in their Wallingford branch and just reheated and served here. If you want to prepare Indian food please get your recipes right. Indian food should not be bland. It should have correct amounts of salt, spiciness and sourness. The chef definitely cannot prepare South Indian dishes, so these items should be removed from the menu. The servers have absolutely no idea about the lack of flavour and authenticity of the food, as there is no Indian chef at this location. Food like idli and vada have to be prepared fresh after ordering, and not reheated in a microwave. Their whole concept of serving food prepared in another location is wrong.
Loved the honey date and dry fruit lassi. Go and try. It’s epic. It’s only seasonal. Not sure how long will they have it for so rush …
