Coffee & Tea Acai Bowls

This used to be our weekend lunch until we found out that the smoothie bowls/fruit bowls are full of added sugar -like a lot of it. The staff is great and I like the coffee. Before we started our plant based journey we loved the cheese bread. However the star for us were the smoothie bowls. They are delicious but essentially a sugary dessert than a healthy treat. The problem is that none of the online, in app, or in store advertises this fact. It feels misleading and inauthentic.I found out because I saw them make the smoothie bowls and on the container of the açaí sugar bucket I saw the nutrition info.Wish it was genuinely healthy and honest in messaging.

Oh I love this place. Gluten free cheese bread and acia smoothie bowls. What more could you want? The staff is friendly, and always a good place to go and work. The only thing is I wish the indoors were a little more welcoming on the customer seating, perhaps brighter colors or a little more homey and less corporate. It's quibbles though - I love this adorable corner place.

my brazilian friend brought me here and told me everything is pretty authentic. the romeo and juliet, the kibbeh, the coffee and of course, the cheese breads. he even recommends the frozen ones.i tried a coffee and cheese bread with him. yes! get the cheese breads. the coffee was pretty normal/average but man, i will be back for the cheese breads.

Stop in if you like your time wasted. Waited 30+ minutes after ordering pickup via uber eats. I arrived 5-10 minutes after getting a notification that my orders ready only to be told "we're out of everything you ordered". So instead of canceling my order or calling to verify I can wait, they waste almost an hour of my time between waiting, traveling, and waiting in store. There were 4 employees there and hardly any customers, no excuse. Your customers time is more valuable than making a $20 sale. The manager was kind but offered no resolution other than "wait" or get in touch with uber for a refund when it was their mistake, yet the issues still falls on my shoulders. This is how you lose life long customers.

This is my new favorite coffee place! This shop hasn’t been around very long; the location was previously used for some sort of a makeup pop-up shop (I think) before finally becoming Kitanda. The location is pretty ideal, both for the business and its customers. It’s right across the street from the light rail station and more-or-less in the middle of Broadway so pretty close to most other things. The beverages are probably my favorite part; the coffee shakes are pretty standard but I appreciate that they’re very unassuming. They’re not called contextless Italian names; a caramel coffee shake is ice, coffee, and some caramel and it’s delicious. The food here is pretty interesting. The chicken cones and beef pockets have really soft, spongy dough surrounding them which I don’t think I’ve ever encountered before in this format; normally the dough is very flat or otherwise very airy in handheld meat-based pies like these (think of Tatar chebureki or Polish perogies) but it’s a nice variations and I honestly like it. The hot dogs as well are noteworthy; normally would eat a hot dog with mustard, ketchup, or relish, but the bun itself is somewhat sweet and it compliments the hot dog itself so well that I don’t see a need for it.The value is also definitely there; of course it would be cheaper to brew coffee at home but sometimes you’re in a pinch or short on time or energy and really just need some food in the stomach and some caffeine; should you find yourself in that situation, you should really find yourself here next. The staff there are always really nice and helpful; there seem to be quite a few people on rotation at this location and I can’t say for sure I’ve ever spoken to the same person twice but I always enjoy my experience so I can’t complain (and if anything it’s all the more impressive to keep finding people with the necessary aptitude for customer service).Overall a 5/5 and I would recommend!

I actually went to the Hi Tea Cafe and was great. The service is excellent and food unique. I got a Tornado potato with cheese and was good. It's right next to the light rail station also.

What would be your average café experience is pushed into the great by their excellent savory Brazilian pastries, which you won't find anywhere else in Seattle's slew of coffee shops. If you're just stopping in here for just coffee and not their cheesy breads or chicken pastries, you're missing out on the point.

Delicious food and coffee! The cheese bread with cheese and guava was amazing

Wonderful place, but always understaffed. Standing in the shop now, there are 12 customers and 2 employees, with a massive wait. This happens here a lot, so be ready to wait, regardless of whether you order ahead or not. But the food is good! If Kitanda reads this, hire more people. You are blatantly mistreating your employees now, by not having enough.

I’m Brazilian and I can say that what I had there was pretty authentic. The pão de queijo was so good that we had to buy a bag of the frozen ones to bake at home. If not drinking coffee, grab a can of guaraná!
