Soft, delicious crepes, good mochas, employees that are always busy but care about doing their best, never empty but definitely enough seating in the mornings.I recommend coming early on sunny days & enjoying the outdoor seating with the morning sun! The game tables (where this food picture is taken) are also lovely and somewhat separated from the majority of indoor seating to facilitate noise control.I hope to try their breakfast crepes on my next visit, and always appreciate delivery! Jewel box cafe is great! It's popular for a reason ;)Features:- Dietary restriction options (alt./plant based milks, meat free breakfast crepes, gluten free crepe options)- Indoor and outdoor seating- Game tables- Outlets- 2 hours guest wifi with purchase- 1 customer bathroom- Employees that mask up & keep safe distance- Sweet and savory options for crepes, all of which are good- bubble tea (hit or miss)- Large portions (better than other crepe places I've been to in the area)- Contactless payment- Napkins at *every* table (thank you for this!)- Warm wood aesthetic & warm lighting (good for comfortable studying)- Fireplace- Accessible entry- Great location with Thornton place parking- Long hours!!Thank you Jewel Box!
Nice space relaxing and good coffee
I love the interior and this really is the antidote to your everyday Starbucks or what have you. They make crepes and food items that are absolutely delectable, not just packaged BS in a case. I meet clients there and can easily get distracted in meetings so when I realized that I left my order up on the pickup counter for an hour and a half, I greatly ppreciated it when they offered to replace it. Thanks Jewel Box!
Seating area is lovely and comfortable, food is tasty, however if you look beyond the lovely facade you will find a filthy hallway leading toward the kitchen. The women's restroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. There was literally dried menstrual blood on the floor in front of the toilet. I shutter to think what the state of the kitchens cleanliness might be.
Really tasty tea in the boba - I got the spring green milk tea and it was the perfect thing for a warm day. My only complaint was that the boba was very hard, like it hadn't been cooked through all the way. I'll definitely be coming back for more, especially considering how cool the inside of the cafe was!
The crepes and coffee were both wonderful, and the servers were really nice. I got a dirty chai and would drink one every day if I lived closer to Jewel Box. It was a little bit chilly inside, but sitting further away from the door helped. Just know if you’re going when it’s cold outside it might be cold inside the cafe, and extra layers could be helpful.
Got the grilled cheese with pesto and tomato. Absolutely delicious. The zebra mocha is a delightful mix of chocolate and coffee. Went very well with my mocha. Will have to visit again.
We have been stopping by here every few weeks since the pandemic started, usually for smoothies and bubble tea to go.I have also had a berry crepe and spicy sausage crepe, both of which were delicious. Friendly staff, typically no wait, and distinct aesthetic. Previously they have shown art but nothing there the last couple of times we have stopped in. They had been carry-out only (or dine outdoors at the community tables at this location), but today they indicated dine-in is back.
I was very disappointed by this place. I was set to meet somebody here and the photos looked like it had great ambiance so I was excited to spend a couple hours here. It’s in a cute little shopping center with lots of patio seating in the little courtyard. There’s a small parking lot right out front or plenty of parking nearby. The cafe has a bookshelf full of books and cozy seating. Staff were friendly. The tea was okay, nothing exciting. But it turns out they’re still not open for indoor seating, which I find ridiculous as most other places resumed indoor seating months ago. So we sat out in the cold at a patio table in the courtyard. I would try it again once they resume indoor seating because the atmosphere seems like the main draw here.
Fantastic selection of bubble teas, crepes, sandwiches, salads and beer and wine. Open for indoor dining as of March 3rd!
