Great vibe. Tiny but packs a punch: amazingly diverse liquor assortment on the walls.
My sister was visiting me in Seattle and I was excited to check out JarrBar with her because we both love tinfish & Spanish vibes—entered in a great mood. The service & attitude of the server was so bad that it was truly confusing. After seating us, no one came to the table for 20min, at which point we ordered 2 beers and some tinfish/bread. 45 more minutes and nothing, even after making eye contact several times. We walked out 1h in without having been served anything. There were only 3 other tables and they chose to attend to two, while completely ignoring us and another group. The air of aloof arrogance that was—like I said—hard to explain, and not a good look. From a guy in crocs and a Hawaiian shirt no less!! ? Come on, man... This happened a few months ago, but a friend just shared that they had the SAME experience here, so I had to return to write a review. Clearly not an isolated incident.
There was a small group of us and the bartender had a real problem with us paying individually. To make it easier for him I just said I’d pay $20, drinks, tax and tip included. My order was 2 ciders ($6 each), so a total of $12 plus tax. $20 was very generous (especially considering the bad attitude we were subjected to).In the tip section I wrote “incl.” (as in, the tip is included in my declared amount). I told the bartender that’s what I was doing, and while he was irritated and said I shouldn’t do that, he didn’t print me off a new transaction receipt. So I just went with it.In my haste to leave, I didn’t write in a final amount, so guess what, they took the liberty of adding on another tip after I left. Was charged $24 on my credit card. This is theft and fraud. I’m grateful it was a small bill, but I wish I had never gone to this place.
if you are a new customer be prepared to get an attitude from the server, she make us feel so uncomfortable that we had to leave. At first we thought was because of our race, but reading other reviews now we know the attitude is for everyone ?. So many places with good service in the are to even bother, please don't come to this place unless you are friend of the staff.
Absolute worst service and the rudest staff we encountered on our entire trip to Seattle. We were not rude or obnoxious customers by any means, there were 5 of us and we all ordered cocktails. The staff were slow, never checked on us, and when it came time to pay they refused to split the bill and made a comment about our being Canadian and that we shouldn’t ‘act like the weird bill split is a normal thing’. It’s a cute place and the cocktails were good but we will never return due to the staff.
For the entirety of this review I would like to quote the balding, blonde employee man who refused to split our bill saying, "I'm Canadian, I lived in Vancouver - don't act like the weird split is a normal thing." What an unnecessarily rude thing to say regarding a service that the establishment was able to provide. We literally just wanted to pay and leave because we were bored from the slow service and had better things to do than wait around. While the assumption that we were a table of Canadians was justified since we were decked out in Blue Jays apparel for the afternoon game, it was still uncalled for even making a comment about it. Regardless of what country our passports are from, we were customers asking for a service. Never setting foot in that trash establishment again.
Love the JarrBar space. Intimate, great beverages menu, and food. Charcuterie, cheese, and tin fish. All the good stuff.
What a great idea for a restaurant. The homey space made me feel like I was in Spain. House wine, charcuterie, and amazing Spanish olives with crusty bread made a good light supper. And a number of sherries to choose from. The staff was attentive.
I went to late for trying some food but the cocktails are great and service is great as well. The bartender was very friendly the place has an informal vibe that makes you feel at home.
I love the salami plate! Also the atmosphere is really amazing~~ bring me back to Spain
