To avoid any confusion, this is the fish bar which you walk up to place your order at the counter. It is located to the left of the Acres of Clam sit-down table service restaurant. If like fish and chips, this is the place to go! I usually get a 4pcs with a bowl of white chowder. I prefer to eat my food in the indoor eating area, but if you have kids, you might want to eat outside so they can feed the seagulls. The food here is more than decent, but nothing fancy. If you're looking for something more fancy, go inside the Acres of Clam.
My husband and I and our friends walked by and saw this restaurant one night while we were looking for a place to dine. It has an ordering area. Then they give you a number and then a few minutes later the food comes out. My husband and I split a large order of salmon chowder and a shrimp cocktail. The whole meal with drinks was right around $20. The food was very good. There are a lot of seagulls around the place because some customers were throwing fries. We liked our meal a lot.

I love Ivars the problem is small pieces of fish and the price. I love the original recipe cod that is what I always get problem is I can't afford to go as much as I want to and you buy a 5 piece and a drink it's almost $20 and I still leave hungry! That's not right sometimes what they consider a piece of fish is ridiculous I have had pieces that are about the size of a chicken nugget. I think you guys could definitely afford to be more generous on portion size and lower your prices. and why don't you offer all you can eat? every other fish and chip house that I've been to offers all you can eat you can go to one of the last remaining Skippers in Puyallup for 14.99 you eat all the fish & Chowder you want! every other fish and chip house that I go to I spend less than what I do at Ivar's for a 5 piece and a drink and I leave full. please make some changes because price and portion are complaints that I hear from tons of people let's go to Ivar's. A little less greed would probably bring in actually more business.
Good simple fish dining right by the water. Whether it's raining or dry outside, you can stop here if you happen to be by the water and get food quickly and inexpensively.The clam strips are great and the fish is fresh. For people who are visiting and might not have had great fish before, this is a good option for that.Get the chowders! They're wonderful!
