This place was just OK in my opinion. The food taste like just every other Japanese restaurant that I have been to. I also ordered the tofu bowl not the tuna bowl, which is what they gave me. There was way too much tuna and I couldn’t eat it because it wasn’t cooked enough. And my new husband didn’t really like his food either. Overall, I don’t think we will eat here again but if we had to I guess we would.

Good food and good prices (during happy hour) are my two criteria for highest rating and Issian met both. We dined in during happy hour and enjoyed all the food we had on the HH menu: skewers, agadashi tofu, chicken wings When the tuna belly came out, we were so pleasantly surprised at how huge the portion was. Wow! For regular price of$15, it is such a great deal. We'll have to come back and try out more menu items.

The service is awesome. Super fast and attentive. The food is decently priced and good quality. Great atmosphere to dine solo.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Seattle! The foods are not 100% authentic, but you are gonna love them!I come here mainly for skewers every time and they never let me down. Every time I tried something new, always brings me surprises! The restaurant is a bit crowd, and the waiters are not enough to serve you every time you ask for something, but most of them are really nice!Recommend: chicken thigh, chicken cartilage, pork belly, bacon w/quail egg, and green pepper! They are all juicy and full of flavor?PLEASE try their Udon, the flavor would definitely different from other restaurants! The Udon soup is super creamy, you can smell the flavor of seed weeds and milk when it’s hot!?Not really recommend: chicken heart, chicken gizzard. I’m a huge fan of them, but skewers here is a bit over-burned, so they would be less soft and juicy. I prefer the heart in another izakaya??And the price for their happy hour is really fair! The happy hour is 16:30-18:30⏰Well, absolutely a worth trying place! I believe you would not regret! But remember to make reservation ahead, they are usually so popular to get a seat for walk in!

I really like Issian! The food is authentic and the staff are nice. Happy Hour is great!! Maguro Tartare is my all time favorite; the chicken wings has always been amazing too!I also like their food quality stays the same over time. I could say that the maguro tartare tastes the same yum as 10 years ago and the portion similar. I mean the price did go up but that’s understandable. Good things should stay the same. The Karaage is always very moist inside, yet crispy. Unlike the majority of the Japanese restaurants in the PNW which only offers Westernized rolls, bento and bowls, Issian has dishes that are famous in Japan but hard to find in Seattle. Honestly I couldn’t recall anything I ordered but disliked from here.

Highly recommended. Really good Japanese food, we went in with no expectations and this place shocked us with the quality and prices. Service was also very good. Seemed kinda like a popular date spot too. Cane out to around $40 each total for a big meal and pitcher split with tax and tip.We got the okonomiyaki with pork, unagi and salmon masu, seattle and volcano roll, gyoza, karage, beef and pork kushikatsu. All delicious.

Yakiton and yakitori are so great during happy hour. Sashimi and agedashi tofu very reasonable as well.

Hh I point everything was goodCrispy chicken wings are my fave

See my photos. The food here is fantastic!!Also the Chi-Hi during happy hour is such a steal. One of the staffs there is very cute.

Fantastic food: grill, sashimi, rolls, with a terrific happy hour. Best of all, they have world class staff. Such a welcoming atmosphere. One of the best spots in Seattle
