Hot Cakes has really awesome and decadent dessert but I do think it's way over-hyped. While the plating is creative, it takes away from the fun of an oozing lava cake by serving it in a container where most of the cake ends up getting stuck to the sides. The desserts are pretty pricey as well and very heavy so I recommend sharing. It's worth a try, the environment is fun, and the desserts are great if you love chocolate but it's not my first choice.Decent street parking in the more residential areas, you'll likely have to walk a few blocks if you find a spot.
The ice cream and sauces in their separate section of the plate make a perfect spoonful-by-spoonful balancing flavour for the very rich and very tasty molten cake. The wait in the evening was quite long but the flavour and experience were quite good.
A little pricey but the desserts taste and look great. It's a nice dessert place to go to when you want something a little different and delicious. Lots of gluten free choices.
Amazing experience! The employees were so kind and welcoming. They made the experience a 10/10 for us! The lava cakes were delicious, we wish we could have tried them all!
Oh, the Strawberry is amazing! Second favorite was the Dark Decadence. The Cadillac Sipping Chocolate was surprisingly good. Get the fire pit table outside if you can.
We really enjoyed this place but had a bad experience today with the people working today Thursday around 7 PM.We ordered to-go and the cashier told us the plating is prettier when eating in store, but we told the cashier and confirmed that we were getting to-go. We waited for about 20 minutes so we went to check our order and they asked us why we don't have a number. We told them that we only gave them our name because we ordered to-go, and then they confirmed the order with our name and gave us a number to wait. We told them once more we are getting to-go.A bit later, we received our order on plates instead, and went back to them very confused and told them we ordered to-go. One of the pink haired worker aggressively told us that we got our orders on plates because we were standing next to the people seated.I can understand that people can get stressed when mixups happen but when we eventually came back home with our to-go order, we saw the food intentionally mixed with each other. Our creme brulee came broken (which is OK from the mixup), and also we found strawberry rhubarb mixed under the brulee. I can only suspect this was done intentionally...Leaving this review hoping things can get better, you can check the pictures attached.
The lava cake was sooo hoooot and fresh!! The outside seating was pretty good but i am taking one star away because the matcha latte tasted like pure milk and it doesn't taste well at all.Otherwise everything else and the food was good. They also have good seating outside so the atmosphere is nice specially in spring/summer
I will be completely frank. The desserts are DELICIOUS but I actually wanted more cake to filling ratio!! For my it was too much melty chocolate, not enough sponge. Still delicious though
This is super fun place with super- tasty desserts. Their chocolate decadence and S’mores from molten cakes category in menu. It was so delicious. This is must place for people travelling first time to Seattle. They have concept of molten cakes with ice cream like Choco-lava cake with icecream.
We ordered the Gooey Brownie Cake and Smoky S'mores. The Gooey is vegan and the Smoky can be made dairy free. Excellent dessert place.
