I decided to hire Honey Crumb to make our wedding cake for the sugar flowers and unique flavors--I was not disappointed! Absolutely did not like the vanilla cake but did like the espresso frosting. The carrot cake with citrus was delicious. The citrus frosting gave that zing!
Summary: Honey Crumb is a top tier establishment. Their cakes for our wedding were incredible, and Carla’s professionalism/passion/attention to detail is clear.Overall:Carla is a master at her craft. She was responsive to our questions and helped with understanding the delicate details of her cakes (care and handling, sugar flowers, etc). She was great to meet in person, and helped with ensuring that the transport of our cakes to the venue went smoothly and safely. We selected a 2-tier cake, chocolate fig balsamic with white buttercream “smooth” exterior deckled edge, and a single large “climbing rose”. We also had additional kitchen cake for our guests. It was a huge hit.Honey Crumb offers “to-go” cake tastings, which we highly recommend. There are 2 different sets that alternate every month, so make sure you research which flavors you want to try and preorder (they sell out quick). Every single cake flavor was delicious, and it was a fun activity to decide on the perfect flavor.With our wedding happening on the back-end of the pandemic, having Honey Crumb be so professional and invested into our success was one less thing to worry about. They communicated clearly and created a perfect cake, while also juggling pre-pandemic orders and a smaller staff than usual. Carla, it was a joy to meet you. Honey Crumb Cake went above and beyond my vision and expectations for my wedding cake. They matched my colors beautifully and the London Fog flavor was amazing. Carla and the Honey Crumb team made the most beautiful wedding cake for our intimate wedding celebration!!! Everyone LOVED the cake and repeatedly commented on how the sugar flowers looked SO real! Planning our wedding was extra stressful because I’m DC based and not familiar with the Seattle area. I also spent several months leading up to the wedding splitting my time between the west and east coast and overseas. Carla was super helpful, answered allll my questions, was patient when I was sometimes slow to respond or being incredibly indecisive, and very professional. I never seemed to be in Seattle when the tasting boxes were available, but I managed to align one trip with the weekend the boxes were released so I did try some flavors! All were magnificent, but to play it safe given that I knew we had some less adventurous eaters, I went with a base tier of chocolate and vanilla cakes with raspberry mousseline and a top tier of GF almond cake and raspberry mousseline. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Carla and Honey Crumb last month for my clients' wedding. They were professional and detail-oriented - including leaving a cutting diagram and flavor information for the catering team so they could serve it correctly and answer questions accurately. They arranged the fresh flowers beautifully on the cake and ensured that the blooms selected were food-safe. On top of all that, the cake was delicious! I had a slice of the gluten-free chocolate and if I hadn't known it was gluten-free, I never would have guessed. It was that good. Carla at Honeycrumb was so great to work with. My husband and I needed vegan cakes, and we were getting married on a Wednesday (which doesn't work with the normal cake pickup schedule). Carla worked tirelessly with us to come up with a solution where we froze the cakes for a few days before thawing on our wedding day to preserve freshness and taste. Let me tell you - these cakes looked utterly perfect even after being frozen and thawed and they TASTED amazing! Far better than some vegan-specialty bakeries, in fact the cake was so good that it was completely eaten by our (nonvegan) guests who continued to remark on how delicious it was. We ordered both vanilla + citrus and vanilla + raspberry, both were so tasty and fluffy and refreshing. We are so grateful to Carla for helping us have a real 'wedding cake' experience despite having a non-traditional wedding. I cannot recommend Honeycrumb highly enough!
If you're looking for the best tasting and absolutely breathtaking event cake in the Seattle area, there's no comparison with Honey Crumb. Carla and her team did an incredible job with our wedding cake last weekend! We gave her our inspiration board our florist made for us and she recreated such a gorgeous representation of our flowers with her extremely skilled sugar work. Everyone thought they were real flowers and there's no doubt her skills are unparalleled. Let's not forget her cake flavors are delicious! We tried her cake tasting box and it was so difficult to chose our final flavor. We ended up getting the Vanilla Lemon Blackberry and it was divine, but our very close favorite was the London Fog which we will definitely get to celebrate our first anniversary!
I just had my wedding and I was so amazingly happy with my cake. So gorgeous and completely heavenly.I wasn't personally able to do a tasting before getting my cake so I didn't know how it would be and it was so perfect, I can't imagine a better flavor. We selected creme caramel and it felt like the perfect elevation of a classic wedding cake flavor with the addition of the salted caramel.Additionally the sugar flowers were impressively matched to my wedding bouquet. I'm so grateful I had such a lovely cake for my wedding and couldn't be more satisfied.Thank you so much, Honey Crumb and Carla!
