The vibe is great but we didn’t stay to have dinner. The menu is nothing like what we’ve read about and it wasn’t what we wanted, so we left after finishing my subpar mezcal drink. The entrees are expensive, do not come with sides, and a plate of asparagus was $14. I’m sure the pastas were great, but only one option came with a protein, and it was prawns—they are located right on the shore, couldn’t we do better in Seattle? We came for the delicious photos we saw posted on the other reviews on Google and Open Table and none of those options were available tonight. See attached photo of the updated menu. (The meatballs aren’t only $1 and the “shared” Chef’s Choice Tasting is $67 per person). Feeling bad about the bad review but it is what it is.
The restaurant has a trendy minimalist design and very beautiful interior. It offers indoor and outdoor seating. The oysters were severely underwhelming: there were several pieces of shell in most oysters and they were not so tasty - other restaurants a couple blocks down by the docks do a way better job.The salmon was very good and the side of mushrooms was comforting and had a pleasant mouthfeel. The burger was good, perfectly cooked with great fillings and the side of fries had a nice touch of rosemary but unfortunately were too salty. We selected a whoopie pie dessert which tasted kind of like bear claws and banana bread mix, had a nice moist texture but has a rather bland cream filling and was not at all to the level of the salmon main dish and burger.Overall I would say the dishes were hit or miss, varying from excellent to not so great. Will likely not come back and will not recommend to others
The meal was phenomenal. The tasting menu is not only unique but refreshing in terms of creativity. By far one of the best meals in Seattle.
The kitchen is stacked with top notch Michelin star talent and it shows. The chefs showed amazing creativity in every dish, making traditionally simple dishes like the pasta and salad exceptional. By far one of the best dining experiences in Seattle.
This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had eating out in awhile. Service was very poor, ordered the New York Strip steak for $38 and expect it to be at least above average.... this was an extremely disappointing lukewarm streak over cooked for medium rare with a bad burnt taste that covered any flavor the steak may have had. My partner order the Rockfish and said it wasn't very flavorful. For the price I expected the food and service to be significantly better. Best thing there was the bread.
great sweet selection. squid ink pasta as supplement is great. panna cotta is very light
Took my wife to haymakers for Valentine's Day and The limited menu was not very good. Also the manager Gin was not very accommodating and really kind of a jerk. My buddy brought me here before and we had a wonderful time with the beef tartare and now that has been taken off the menu and after my last horrible experience with Gin I will not be coming back.
Heard raving reviews, was underwhelming. Brussels were all oily leafs, hardly any body to it. Charcuterie was good taste and value. The rigatoni pasta had good flavour but have had better, nothing mind blowing. No meat or anything in the sauce , felt plain. the tonnarelli “scallop” pasta we got had no flavour and also felt plain. We sent this back because there really was no flavour to it… on the second version we got I noticed this one had one scallop in it which was strange. Do they normally not put scallop in this pasta and felt nice to add it or did they just forget on our first one….? I felt a little sketched out because of this. I most likely wouldn’t return.
Nice ambiance, service was friendly. Our table chose to experience the Tasting menu. Very tasty. The timing was a little slow between two of the courses, but otherwise was well paced. We also enjoyed the wine pairing. A great little neighborhood spot.
The best pasta in Seattle! We usually get the oysters and the crudo or their vegetable app as well as a pasta or two, and it's a perfect meal. The service in West Seattle is exceptional, but Eastlake is great too and we enjoy the more intimate seating and lighting at Eastlake. Pleaseee bring back the rigatoni all'amatriciana! It was so spicy and full of flavor - obsessed.
