I went here on the 4th of July because it was one of the few places in the neighborhood that was open and I'd been wanting to try it. It seating outside facing Green Lake, which is a big bonus. The food was great but I wasn't crazy about the service. The staff seemed hassled and annoyed by my being there. The person who took my order read the soup back wrong twice; after I corrected them the server brought me the wrong soup (apparently it was written down correctly, she just made a mistake, but was very nice about it and corrected it quickly). I asked for sugar for my iced tea but then had to go get it myself. I'm going to assume they were short-staffed due to the holiday. I will probably go back (maybe give them another chance?) due to the food being so good. Hopefully they will be nicer to me next time.
On 6/12/22 at 3:45 in the afternoon the hostess was unable to accommodate a party of 5 with a dog on the south outside patio because she said a chair from the other 2 empty tables couldn't be moved to the table of 4 to make it a table of 5. The rationale she gave was 'fire code.' She did give a great tip though - to go across the street (which was packed by the way) to the 'Shelter' which actually even let dogs inside. This was a great suggestion with order from your phone and QR code and great food at a great price with a great atmosphere and excellent service. I'd say Greenlake Grill needs to hire better customer service people if they want to stay in business.
They were able to accommodate our party of 20+ on short notice (around4pm), the staff was attentive, friendly, FUNNY.. always a plus! Service was fast, too! ?? Several in our party ordered the prime rib dip which they all loved, a few of us ordered the Bonanza Bleu burger... SUPERB!?? The blueberry cobbler cheesecake was also divine!
Greenlake Grill, right across from the lake, is your typical restaurant with a decent sized menu, good portion sizes with ok prices, and good tasting food. The staff here are quick and friendly. Parking around here is always awful, so good luck. They have a few tables outside and a bunch inside, and usually aren't extremely busy so you can normally find a table. The fish and chips were decent.
There is a government sign as you enter that rates restaurants as poor, fair, good and excellent. The sign indicated Greenlake Grill as fair. Trip advisor rates Greenlake Grill as the 2,293 of 27,723 in Seattle. We had lunch here and would rate it as mostly good. The Caesar with chicken was large and tasty. The scrambled eggs ordered by my grandson were not at all tasty. We will probably not return.
We really enjoyed curried fried cauliflower with Sriracha yogurt as an appetizer and a pair of half sandwiches with fresh, zesty tomato basil soup for lunch. I used to come here a lot before it was Lunchbox Laboratory, a phase I missed completely, and it feels pretty much like it once did. How nice to be able to step into the same river twice for once.
Great food, excellent service.
P Word is a great bartender, and the whole staff is amazing. Their prices are incredibly affordable for the times. The outdoor seating across from the lake is amazing.
ORIGINAL: Was really looking forward to trying this place since it looked really good, until I saw that they received an "okay" rating from the food department. Very disappointing. Hoping things will be better in the future.EDIT: thank you so much for the quick response! I can clearly see that you are passionate about your business and customers. I have updated my review to 3 stars for now based on your response. I truly appreciate it and I am looking forward to coming in soon!
I worked here very briefly, but had to call out a bartender drinking on the job. They soon promoted me, but my mom died weeks after. they fired me after a day of not coming in. this company is messed up. then I tried to contact the gm and he blocked me for asking about the address on my w2.
