We usually go for cocktails and oysters but they also have a great full menu. Frank's is great dining, everytime. A go to, local favorite.
wonderful overall experience. staff friendly, food delicious, champagne fantastic!
We live in the neighborhood and used to love Frank's but the past couple of times we've gone they've really missed the mark. Last time, the hostess argued with us about our reservation, and this time we had several issues with both the food and the service. We went for a birthday dinner last night and the service started out great but seemed to drop off throughout the night. The food and drinks both took extremely long to come out and when the food finally came our orders were wrong. I noticed the server didn't write anything down and had to come back to ask me again what kind of wine I had ordered so I think that was part of it. My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger medium-well, but it came out very rare. I ordered the steak and asked to substitute the fries for a salad which the server said would be no problem, but when the food came out it was steak and fries. I sent that back and reminded them I had ordered it with a salad, and when it came out again they brought it with the wedge salad instead of the cara-cara salad I had ordered. I just ate it at that point so as not to keep the rest of my group waiting but that wedge salad they gave me was tiny (smaller than the size of my fist) and the steak was not good. For a $35 plate I would expect a lot more than a small "just ok" steak and a tiny salad. The wedge salad was just lettuce with 2 chunks of bacon and 2 radish slices...I'm not sure what the hype is all about on that salad but the green goddess dressing was good. I don't like bacon or radishes (why I didn't order this salad in the first place) so I ended up just eating the lettuce with dressing. Our drink glasses and water glasses were left empty for a good while during our dinner and when we ordered some post-dinner coffees we weren't asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu which I thought was kind of odd. We probably would have ordered some since it was a birthday dinner.Overall, I still like Frank's for the vibe and ambiance, but the food and service has seriously declined, especially for the price.
The oysters and pasta were fantastic here. However, the service leaves a bit to be desired. We informed the server when seating and ordering about a peanut allergy in the party which was forgotten.
Really good oyster, had ordered the baked oyster bingo, very tasty. The two main dishes were okay, not quite as impressive, so was the cocktail.
This is our second time to Frank’s and it is BEYOND amazing. The first time I had the seasonal ravioli. Tonight I’m enjoying the gnocchi. Both times my hubs has ordered the steak and it’s been cooked perfectly. We always start with a dozen oysters and dirty martinis, and everything is always INCREDIBLE! Do yourself a favor and book your next date here. The ambiance and fare is exquisite and the service is wonderful. We can’t wait to come back and I haven’t even finished my gnocchi yet.
They need to take down the "fantastic happy hour" from the web.2 wine & 2 beers & 2 small plates $80.00! Wines not up to snuff - need breathing time. Small plates lacked the seafood as stated.Reservations necessary or sit on in nether regions.Very disappointing
I hadn't been to Frank's in at least a couple of years. The food is always good but, this last Friday, it was really memorable. The baguette with ash butter and olives was delicious-- salty but so flavorful. The rockfish crudo was a stand- out, as was the Cracker Jack ice cream sundae. Wonderful meal! The only thing that I didn't love is that the outdoor seating is packed so closely together that you were literally bumping up against your neighbor. Even in the outdoors, I didn't love being unmasked in that tight of a space, not to mention that it was just not super- comfortable. Indoor seating looked lovely, though-- and there were several booths open-- so I'm not sure we were told there was only outdoor seating available.
Cute restaurant with outdoor seating - great oysters and the ravioli was good too!Great drink selection as well. Super helpful staff
We started with an assortment of oysters which presented well and were excellent. We ordered beef tartare which also was wonderful. We enjoyed clams and pork belly and a perfectly cooked steak and potatoes. Devin provided amazing service and made the evening even better. I’m sure we will find our way back again in the near future.
