Appears they are resting on their laurels. My wife ordered the 2 piece halibut, she got one piece and some criminally overcooked small pieces of cod. Dunno what that was about. The oysters in my po boy were overcooked as well. My wife went in to asking if there was pepper in the breading and got a snotty "I don't know in return". Won't be back. There is MUCH better out there.
Good fish and chips at a fair price. I have been to plenty of fish and chip shops in Seattle and I will say the prices here are lower than average for a decent amount of food. I ordered the five piece cod and the food came out fresh and quick. Both the fries and fish were tasty. I recommend trying this spot out.
Best fried fish joint in Seattle!! Staff are so friendly and makes you feel like a family member! They offered for us to try theirchowder and gumbo!! Out of this world good!! If you ever visit the Seattle area or live here you have to eat here!! I wish there was more tables and chairs but I would still go back!! ?
This place is unreal. Cajun style breading, meaning it’s gluten free. I’ve been multiple times and had a number of different menu items, all of which are phenomenal. The owner is there every day hard at work and is a tremendous down to earth guy. He gave me a free sample of the chowder and, after tasting, I couldn’t help but place a full order!Price is also reasonable, even in a city like Seattle. Give this place a try.
Went very out of my way to go here. Seemingly the only place in PNW that sells (or at least openly advertises) breaded/deep fried salmon. I had some at Anchorage international airport that were just incredible... Not so much at Emerald City.Breading was tasteless, seemingly didn't even have salt, pepper, or any other baseline spices in the batter. Coating was very thin, zero crunch, not flaky. Fish was dry when bit into. Didn't taste bad--mostly tasteless. Had a nice color on the inside, no bones.Shrimp hush puppies were burnt, tasted burnt. Seemed like you could taste the fryer oil, old and burnt.Fries were the best part.Fountain soda was obviously lacking the syrup in the mixture, tasted like seltzer water, waste of money.Nowhere to sit. Think there were one or two tiny tables out front not covered (was pouring rain, as it does every day in Seattle).Food came out fast.Hardly any parking. If I was in the area I might try some of the other kinds of fish (they had several different fish and chips options), but I'm definitely not going out of my way to be here again.
This place is garbage. I ordered the catfish and chips basket…and below is what I got. These look like frozen little patties, these aren’t even nuggets and sure are not filets. No seasoning, NONE. Also this little 2 bite pie. ??? All of this for $14? Ought to be shamed!
The lady at the counter was rude even at the point I entered ignoring me and helping the guy that she obviously saw walk in after me. There was eye contact both times. Order cod fish and chips with 5 tarter sauces 3 malt vinegars and lots of lemons also clam chowder with lots of crackers... By this time I was asked three separate times if I wanted got sauce...I continue saying no thank you.. I also tell her I know I ask for a lot of stuff but I will pay whatever extra it costs.. I got our food walked out to the car and checked the order. I had a bag with fish and chips basically dumped in the bag 2 what I thought at the times to be tarter sauces and nothing else. Went back in explained I would like 3 more tarter sauces 3 malt vinegars extra crackers and lots of lemons and I will pay any cost for these things.. She told me she already gave me all that. I said well I would like to buy those things now.. Which I was allowed to do for $3.50 (which I didn't see rang in) however when I got home I realized the "tarter sauce" was actually remulade the 2 malt vinegars were little cups wrapped in plastic wrap which clearly did not remain in said cups two lemon wedges for 6 pieces of fish one packet of crackers and to top it off the chowder had so much flour in it that you can actually eat it with a fork which is kind of fortunate since that's what they gave me instead of a spoon... You do what you want but I won't waste my time money or dignity buy patronizing this business again!
My husband an i LOVE this place we go at least 1-2 times every month !!! And will NOT get fish an chips any where other then here. An the hush puppies an clam chowder is to die for!!! I lived in Florida for 2 years an damn it brings a little of that here.
Very Satisfying after a long walk around the shops and pier. The serving size is huge and overall well worth it for your buck. My party and I ordered two combo and Baja fish tacos. It was very delicious and would love to come back again and try the rest of the menu. I wished they included lime or lemon for the fish tacos, that would've been superb! I love the atmosphere and they also offer outdoor sitting.
You'll have to look at other reviewers photos because we dug in so fast we forgot to take pics. It was all delicious. We got the cod and prawn special, the chowder and the crab puppies. Everything was perfectly prepared and flavorful. The chowder was like if Maine and New Orleans made a delicious baby. Creamy, cajun-y perfection. This place is definitely worth the trip.
