It’s the biggest name for a steakhouse in Seattle. No doubt. Their waiters are awesome. I went yesterday and Oka served me and my friend. He’s been there for sixteen years. The food was great, but not mind blowing. I’m stuck because I’d love to give five stars for the service and experience, but the food just didn’t match and ultimately a restaurant should but judged on its food.

The staff was incredibly friendly and responsive. The food tasted great! I cannot wait to go back there! 5 out 5 stars hands down.

We started with delicious cocktails, a Pork Belly Smoked Old Fashioned (the campfire nose works exceptionally well with the slightly extra sweetened OF), and The Last Word (if you're familiar with maraschino liqueur, this cocktail will taste exactly how you'd expect--yum!). The "Insane Truffle Soup" was creamy and unctuous, and the kimchi mignonette added a lovely kick to the fresh oysters. Our chateaubriand was beautifully crusted and tender inside (rare side of medium rare), and the cliff sauce was super decadent. Finished with a not necessarily noteworthy key lime pie (aside from looking quite sharp), but still exactly what I wanted. The WhistlePig Double Malt 18 Year Rye was a perfect final note.Service was excellent, with just the right amount of attentiveness. Will definitely return, hopefully sooner than later!

As amazing as the food is, and it’s known through the city and the state, the staff surpasses that! Most know of the incredible steaks and seafood, the signature sides and the exquisite desserts, but whether it was an easy hour meal or a three hour dinner experience, developing relationships with the staff surpassed our lobster, filet and tomahawk steak meals. Most people take service for granted like oxygen- we only notice when it’s missing. But from our fantastic bartender (Jay) to the amazing request taking pianist (Martin), to our favorite server (Kyle) and of course, our head chef (Kirin) we could not have felt more at home if it was Thanksgiving dinner at grandma’s, especially with the head hostess Mama Pam orchestrating her “kids”. There’s a reason why we choose to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, special events and the occasional “I don’t wanna cook Tuesday” at El Gaucho. Thank You. We will see you soon…probably on a Tuesday! William Parkins and Michelle Madison

My best friend and I decided to go for New Year's Eve. He had been many years before. We had the best seat in the house. Our server was excellent, the restaurant is beautiful but the food wasn't as good as expected for the price. Our total at the end was $450 including extra on the tip for our server. The steaks were the best. Mac and cheese not worth the price and scallops tasted like charcoal. With that being said all staff were professional and polite except for a bartender. We decided to finish our evening off with a coffee at the bar. The bar was full so rather than accommodate us the bartender told us that we were in the way of his servers so we left and had our coffee in another establishment. I've tried them once and probably won't go again. That's why I only gave 3 stars.

What an amazing experience. The attention to detail was phenomenal. Food was delicious as well as drinks and wine selection. Sara took great care of us for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing knowledge of the food and wine selection. Thank you for a great experience and we will be back!

Incredible Food & service

Great food and atmosphere every time!

We had the most wonderful dining experience last night. We enjoyed a table side Caesar which was absolutely fantastic and my fiancé and I each enjoyed separate cuts of steak that were cooked to perfection and so unbelievably tender. We shared a side of the Brussels sprouts and, as recommended by our server Luca, the scalloped potatoes. Every bite was better than the last. It’s without a doubt the best meal we’ve ever had. What truly elevated our experience was our server, Luca. He was so personable and so engaging that when we left the meal we were raving about Luca just as much as we were our meal. He had wonderful recommendations, fun stories and had us laughing the entire time. We’ve vowed to come back at least once per year (we’re from out of town), and will ask for Luca personally. Thank you Luca for such a fantastic experience!

The food is quite over rated for the price they charge. The ambiance is great, as was the service, but the star of the show is the food which was just ok. To start the complimentary garlic toast could have come directly from the freezer section at the grocery store! Then the bone in rib-eye (@ $90) had a chew to it, a “good” steak at a high end steak joint should be tender. In addition, my relative ordered the same steak, his was 1/3 larger than mine. Finally, the sides we ordered ( mushrooms and scalloped potatoes) were just average. Choose a different place for your night out!
