Chef King is a hidden gem! To my knowledge it's the best Chinese food option in the larger Greenwood/Phinney Ridge/Ballard area.Very authentic Sichuan, the flavors are on point. Prices are also very reasonable as portion sizes are massive. Each entrée will easily feed 2 people or one person for multiple meals.Nice folks who run this place and some killer lunch specials too. Get the twice cooked pork for a classic intro to Sichuan food, they do it well. Or try other classic crowd-pleasers like Chongqing Spicy Fried Chicken (ask for boneless and don’t eat the dried peppers) or kung pao chicken (authentically a step up from what you’d get at Panda Express). The Sichuan boiled beef or boiled fish are really good here for those who are more adventurous or who have more Sichuan food experience.Protip: many Sichuan dishes are supposed to be fairly oily - have no fear! Mostly it's clean, spicy vegetable oil that won't have you feeling sluggish afterward, even in beef or pork belly dishes.

Very nice place for a casual dine-out. Parking lot is small. The restaurant has about 3 parking spots. But you can park across the street at the Fred Meyer lot. I love that there’s ‘I don’t know’ and ‘whatever’ on the menu. Lol maybe I’ll try them next time.

Super over priced for small portion sizes, got caught off guard because prices in menu on window didn't reflect the prices I paid and shown on RECEIPT. When brought up they did nothing to fix it just said the prices haven't been updated. Wouldn't go back there's too many great places in Seattle for better prices portions and quality

It's not bad, I can't tell what everyone is raving about though. Felt pretty average to me. Ordered to go and one of my items was missing, but it's like 30 min away and not worth coming back just for one thing.Chongqing chicken is a 4/5 - it's above average, nicely spicy, but the pieces of chicken, some of them tasted overcooked or fried too longFish in chili oil - this dish maybe made my roommate sick. Flavor was okay, 3/5Dandan noodles - 2/5 very disappointing. Soggy noodles with just a tiny bit of sauce. It was either the noodles or the fish dish that made my roommate sick but since there really isn't anything in dandan noodles I'm going to assume the fish dish was no good.

Stopped by this place while out for a walk. Glad I did. Food was some of the best I have tried here. I live 20 blocks away but would come back for the food. Good quality and the people working here are really nice. Recommended.

I don't know how I missed this place, but our delivered meal last night was delicious and the portions were definitely very generous. The only odd thing was that we ordered 4 meals and only got one fortune cookie. But the fortune said to share...haha! It's hard to find decent Chinese in North Seattle. Snappy Dragon is the only good place I knew of before discovering Chef King. And Chef King is dangerously close to us. Will definitely order again to see if they are consistent.

Mapo tofu and dry cooked green beans are always a solid pick

Don't sleep on this place if you like actual Sichuan dishes. Boiled fish and cold noodles were excellent and based on that I'd have high expectations for the mapo tofu as well. Yes there is a dearth of Chinese restaurants in this area but Chef King actually stands on its own merit.

I have eaten here alone, with guests, and picking up large orders for events. Everyone is kind, helpful, and the food is so delicious every time. By far one of my favorites.

I love sichuan food! It’s so spicy but so good! Try the ChongQing chicken and the spicy boiled fish! Superb!
