Outstanding neighborhood cafe in the European style. When the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating and indoor there is usually nice music playing. The young and enthusiastic wait staff are backed up by the longstanding owner who is an amazing chef. On the weekends you can get frittatas, French toast, French press coffee and other casual delights for an extremely reasonable price at brunch. In the evenings you can get either Italian dishes or Ethiopian food.
Old school feeling Seattle Breakfast Cafe, family run. Totally nice. And no line. Lots of mediocre breakfast places with long lines in this town. Hopefully you all will make this place popular, because they deserve your business. Standard breakfast fare on a Sunday. But very reasonably priced. And not crowded. Yet.Plus they are super duper nice.
The nearby Cafe was a huge wait and this place was completely empty, which is criminal. My partner and I came here on a whim and I can see this being a future craving destination. I got the ginger tea and the open faced chicken sausage sandwich. It was perfect portions (especially for the price) and every ingredient was flavorful. I usually put hot sauce on my breakfast but I felt that would do a disservice to the meal. The food is excellently prepared, the staff is super nice, the atmosphere is charming. Do Seattle a favor and support places like this.
Came for brunch- cutest lil spot. Always reliable, good coffee, great egg dishes.
The Ethiopian food was absolutely delicious! Love the vibe too, very cute.
This is truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood! The food was excellent! The proportions were great! We were there for brunch and it was such a beautiful little cafe. The staff is excellent, very attentive and thoughtful. If you are in this area I would highly recommend this place, specifically their smoked salmon sandwich!
It is hard to imagine that the best most accessible brunch place in Seattle could be at an Ethiopian restaurant, but such is the nature of most hidden treasures. It is a remarkable privilege to be able to dine here. The food is elegantly presented, the bread is home made, and the meal savory. I took a photo - which I rarely do, because in my opinion Khurri (the owner) has elevated her work into an art form - we felt we were transported to a scene straight out of Midnight in Paris.
The food here is delicious healthy and different. The warm wet cloths they give you are a brilliant little detail. The same lady has run the place for decades and is incredibly warm kind and hard working. I've gone here with my family since my childhood and would highly highly recommend this adorable restaurant with amazing food and good people.
Cafe Soleil quickly became our go to place after living on the same street for 2 months. I had never tried Ethiopian cuisine and if all Ethiopian food tastes like Cafe Soleil, then it's the only food I want to eat for the rest of my life. Every dish is fresh and exploding with flavor! The setting is relaxed and feels like a cafe in the south of France. We loving chilling out there as the sun beams in through the expansive windows. And Khuri, the chef and owner greets everyone with a smile, a warm welcome and gets to know her patrons. We love this place!!
This is a cute hole in the wall restaurant with a laid back atmosphere and delicious food. The dinner is a mix of Ethiopian food and pasta, both are delicious and well done. The Ethi food has a French/European flair to it which makes it different than most and delicious! They also do breakfast on the weekends. I almost always get the potato and smoked salmon bowl for breakfast on the weekend, which comes with grilled onions and grilled feta cheese. YUM!
