Wanted to find a burger place during my trip to Seattle and came upon Burgermaster. I got the melt — it was delicious and the fries were great too! The place is very old school and there is a lot of seating space and friendly staff.
5/5 pothos plants. When you arrive at this Burgermaster, be sure to look up at the flourishing ceiling. You will be pleasantly surprised by the splendor of their cascading flora. Milkshakes objectively 10/10.
The food was what I expect from a Burgermaster, tasty but could use a little better bacon, but the staff, the staff when I was there was awesome. We walked in not long before closing time and they were friendly while doing the closing duties, still offered to let us eat in, no rushing, had good friendly banter. Was the same for the group that came in a few minutes behind us. So this 5 stars is for the night crew.
The original burgermaster! This place is awesome. A little pricey, but the food is fantastic, and the service is exceptional! This burger master in particular has a significantly expanded menu, including some great breakfast items, as well as dinner specials. The burgers are always a classic go-to, but it's definitely worth taking a look at some of the other stuff they offer at this one!
The burger was delicious! I haven't eaten at Burgermaster in a couple years however they are just as good as I remember. I'm from Utah so I would love to see them add a burger with hot shaved pastrami and thousand island style burger sauce ?
We usually eat at the Bellevue Burgermaster which is fantabulous! Love the staff in Bellevue, the order is always correct and the food is delicious. Our daughter had a phone issue that we needed to get corrected immediately, so after running around in rush hour traffic to accomplish that spur of the moment task we thought we couldn't lose with swinging into Burgermaster for dinner. The parking lot is great - far above what is usually available for Seattle. The restaurant was large and spacious feeling. There were several employees taking orders at the counter. We walked up to the man with the bowtie to order our food - and that's when the experience began to go south. I ordered my food and then asked for lemon water to drink with my meal. The guy pulls out what I consider the 'normal' sized plastic cup we ALWAYS receive our lemon water in at the Bellevue restaurant - for FREE - and proceeds to tell me that he can "sell me" the cup for 50 cents. I just looked at him like, "What?!" That's when my daughter who was standing behind me waiting to order steps up and confronts him about wanting to basically sell me a cup of water. "Do you realize that what you're doing is illegal?!" He starts trying to justify that the plastic cup is bigger than the water cups that are over by where one gets water. She shakes her head at him. Such a very weird experience. I tell my daughter to forget it, it isn't worth it, but she refuses to allow him to sell us cups. We go and get our little water cups, water and then add lemon from the condiment area. I can tell my daughter is still incensed, but we sit down to wait for our food. Instead of the buzzer going off, the man with the bowtie shows up to the table with food - but only what my husband and daughter had ordered. So my daughter gets up and goes up to the counter to see what's going on with my order. It was apparently done and was sitting by the tray with her and her father's order but the man had 'forgotten' to bring mine with the other food. The food was okayish, but does not compare to Belleuve, I don't understand how that can be considering this is basically the same restaurant.... Kind of really not impressed at all. We'll be going over to the Eastside when we want to eat at Burgermaster with our daughter. I'd rather pay the toll twice on the bridge in order to receive the good food and good service we've come to expect and appreciate from the Bellevue store.
Most Burgermaster locations are drive-up but this Burgermaster location (University District) provides dine-in, which is nice. I order their burgers, which are excellent and they have many other menu items. I have their tartar sauce with my fries. The tartar sauce is self-serve and is free. This location also has a full breakfast menu which includes eggs, hash browns (not those country potatoes but real hash browns), bacon, ham and sausage links. I have eaten the breakfast items in the past and can say with certainty that they are delicious. If you are looking for a great burger experience, Burgermaster will not disappoint. I guarantee it!
Only been twice and both times, the people at the counter were not very friendly at all and one I think was the manager or owner. Absolutely no enthusiasm and no smiles. I guess that's the world we live in now. Quality customer service is hard to come by. The waitress however was very nice both times. Always smiling and speaking to her customers. I appreciate that. She's the only reason I'd ever go back. The fish and chips were good but the burgers weren't very seasoned. Different strokes for different folks.
B&R seattle so much love to this institution but imho if your going to do burgermaster - check out their drive up locations. They come across as a burger place whereas this location? This location has neighborhood generational nostalgia on its side. COVID did away with the last of the old school salad bar. But it’s essentially a Denny’s with lipstick.Great place for a meet up, tables galore, and highway diner food done dutifully but no table service outside of food delivery.
I went to this place to eat today for the first time and the meat was very similar to McDonald's patty the only difference was the cost was more expensive. I was not impressed and did not enjoy my burger at all..They truly do over charge I won't be eating there again.$40 for 2 small burgers 1 kid meal and a small chocolate shake that was not even a standard small cup it was an extra small cup NOT COOL.
