Tasty spot with a great vibe and excellent service. The decor is funky and creative with so much to look at and talk about! The food is pretty tasty. We felt that our entrees need a little extra boost, as they seemed to not have quite enough salt in them to bring out all the delicious flavors. BUT, I have been here a few times over the years and have enjoyed it in the past.ARANCINI : Saffron infused risotto balls stuffed with fontina cheese - breaded, quick fried, and served on smokey marinara. **Pretty tasty. The fontina cheese melts out of them, YUM!THE SPRING BEET SALAD : Wild greens, roasted beets, spicy candied walnuts and Gorgonzola crumbles in a blood orange vinaigrette dressings **This salad was delicious!! I’m only an occasionally fan of Gorgonzola, but it paired perfectly with everything else and I absolutely loved it. The spicy candied walnuts were also a beautiful touch to get that hit of spicy with the citrus and earthy notes of everything else.THE FOREST FLOOR FRENZY : Wild mushrooms and walnuts foraged from the darkest woods melded with a cream Sherry sauce and house made Pappardelle Ribbon pasta. **I adore mushrooms so this was just the right pick for me. The cream Sherry sauce had a beautiful depth to it and just brought it all together.SUGAR SNAP PEA CARBONARA : A traditional blending of fried house cured pancetta, chicken stock, egg and Parmesan with sugar snap peas tossed with hand made linguini pasta. **This was hands down my favorite!! The peas were so fresh and light- how will I ever have carbonara without them again?TIRAMISU : Holy cow, this was incredible! It was everything I wanted in a Tiramisu. A little denser than what I’m used to, but 10/10 into it. I’ll definitely be back for more!
Five stars due to experience more than the food.If based on the food alone, for the price range, I'd say this is a four star, maybe three star, place. It's good, but not amazing. (Obviously I'm normalizing vs price and location: I've had better Italian in the US for this price, much better Italian for a higher price, and of course amazeballs food in Italy itself, which is another weight class altogether.)What carries the place is the decor and wait staff. If you're sick of minimalistic, bare restaurants designed by Steve Jobs acolytes, or those faux haute decor but really corporate feels you get in expensive chain steakhouses, Bizzarro does it right. You will be surrounded by a collage of objects d'art in a warm interior (no minimalist bare walls here), including a plethora suspended from the ceiling, with good background music. It's just fun. That radio in the pic is in the bathroom between the sink and comode, and it's actually playing something different from the dining room, and kinda weird too. Strange transmissions for strange emissions. And the wait staff are super fun. I'd say the word is moxie.Overall: definitely worth a visit if you live in Seattle and want to experience some Bizzarro.
Insanely delicious food. Eclectic interior. Really great service. The house wine was a good deal and my God was the forest floor pasta fantastic. Also, the arancini appetizer was amazing, brought me back to the streets of Rome. Although, eating arancini with a fork felt wrong since it's street food, so I recommend using hands for a more authentic experience. (Caveat: I have no authority on authentic ways to eat arancini apart from a single week-long visit to Rome I did years ago)
Have been wanting to try this place out for awhile now but they were always pretty full - which led me to anticipating a fantastic experience. The decor was true to the name, meaning it was pretty unique, but that was sadly the best part of the meal. The lasagna was pretty salty and dry, although the marinara sauce was quite good. My friend's meal was also passable - as in, not horrible, but not worth the cost. The service was pretty slow as it took awhile to get our order taken, and then equally as long to wait for our checks after our server knew we were finished and our table was cleaned off. It appeared as if the restaurant was well staffed also, which rules out a short staffing issue that I can usually forgive.Overall, a pretty expensive place for food that was very mediocre and a service experience that was disappointing.
I love this place. My wife and I go often. It epitomizes all of the best in Seattle restaurants. From the moment you sit down, you feel at home. Cozy. It’s got a lot of personality too, don’t worry, but not in a way that alienates you. You feel the love the staff and owners put in. The food is great, it won’t change the world for you, but that’s not why you go to Bizzarro - you go because it’s Seattle done right.
Another absolutely amazing experience at Bizzarro. Certainly not my first visit, definitely won't be my last. We started with the Eggplant Parmigiana Spectacular, which was, well... spectacular. My fiancee ordered the Gnocchi Cavolfiore and I decided on the Elk Bolognese (as seen in the pictures). The gnocchi was tender, sauce was creamy and the cauliflower was perfectly cooked. I wish my gnocchi tasted like this...The Bolognese was delightful. The house-made pappardelle was terrific, absolutely perfect. The delicious sauce clung to every bite. This dish is truly a masterpiece. As always, the staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. This restaurant is a Seattle gem and I am so happy that it wasn't a victim to the covid closures. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
I have been trying from past two years to visit this place. It usually has a long wait list. Finally was able to get a table. Trick - just go early around 6 PM. I was a bit apprehensive about the menu options since I'm a vegetarian. Ordered a gnocchi dish and a banana coconut pie. Best food I have had. Gnocchi was soft and the parmesan sauce was smooth. The pie was a tad sweet but good. Worth the $ you spend. Definitely recommend.
$56 (before tip) for two very average dishes but a good salad is just not worth it.Great atmosphere and friendly staff, but food fell below expectations.Lasagne was very very salty. Fine but needed less salt and more moisture. The margarita pasta was fine too, but the melted cheese and sauce were just average. The Caesar salad was excellent though. Nice twist to have to cut it yourself.Anyway, I wouldn’t come here again. It wasn’t bad, but there’s too many truly great Italian spots in Seattle that are more worth your time.
Absolutely amazing place!! Service was excellent!
Cute little Italian gem! The decors were lovely and food was good
