We made reservations for 7/7/2022. We had something that came up and had to cancel. I called that morning to cancel and got the answering machine. I canceled the tour. They called back and tried to reschedule with me. I didn’t get the call so I kept trying to call to let them know I canceled. They do not answer your calls unless you are trying to book a tour. I still haven’t been able to reach Underground Tours to get my money back. To my knowledge they don’t have a no refund policy. Brian Dewitt
This was such a great tour with an amazing dive into Seattle history. Tour guides were super entertaining and made the entire experience super engaging. It is a walking tour around town and it was great being able to go through the city in a personalized way. Some of the audience members had already taken the tour numerous times and confirmed it's a different experience everytime. I will definitely do it again when I stop in Seattle and highly recommend this on your must-dos if you're visiting.
The tour guide TJ made the tour. They were funny , engaging, energetic, and knowledgeable. Would recommend! I also liked how he featured women in history.
It seems this tour varies greatly depending on who you get as a guide. The lady we got was snarky about everything; apparently early Seattleites were bumbling morons who couldn't do a single thing right, save for a few saints (in particular the brothel operators/employees and the natives). For instance I'm pretty sure the people at that time knew what stairs were - it would've been interesting to hear *why* they chose to use ladders instead of construct temporary stairs to cross the underground, instead of a thought-terminating quip about how dumb they were. Historical people are likely not as stupid as you think and were probably making a tradeoff that you hadn't considered (see: Chesterton's Fence). I'm not saying the tour should've been dry and factual but a little snark goes a long way and in this case it shifted the tone of the tour far too negatively for my taste. And for the record the guide should look at the Ben Franklin Fund before throwing shade at what the founders supposedly never did for their respective cities.
Such a fun and informative tour. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable. Many pics and drawings were used to help us understand more of what it was like in Seattle before and after the fire. Well worth the time and money.
This was a very interesting tour. Our tour guide was delightful. She was so fun and energetic, answering all questions. She is a true performer, but a very honest and knowledgeable one. I would highly recommend this tour. It is a part of Seattle that not all people know about, and a part of Seattle that few people get to see. Just magnificent. Keep up the good work
I loved our guide Lisa, most of the stories she told had a funny spin or twist to it, and she acted like she totally enjoyed doing this. I would have liked more actual history, not just the funny stuff. However, I can't say I was totally disappointed. I'm glad I went on the tour.
Our guide TJ really made this tour worthwhile. He spoke quickly, but with such enthusiasm for the topic it was impossible to be disinterested in the history and humor he shared. It's been more than a week since my tour and I remember so many of the details I learned from TJ--that's how I know it was a good tour. This tour can get a little crowded, and I think it would benefit from having smaller group sizes. There's a lot of time spent going up and down stairs, and from inside to outside and vice-versa. If you have difficulty walking or standing, this may not be the tour for you. In addition, don't expect to use this tour as an escape from the rain- though you'll be underground much of the time, you still have to walk outside to get to different parts of the tour! I wouldn't recommend bringing kids under 12 on this tour due to the nature of some of the content. My final note is a warning that the website (as of early June) said there was a bar/cafe available on site for people arriving early who might need a bite or a beverage. That was not the case- we waited in an area that looked like a pub but wasn't operational at that time.
So excited we spent some time to take this tour. Fascinating and super fun! We learned so much about the streets we had been walking on had underground secrets. The haunted bar was a great plus to grab a drink after all the walking . Our guide was perfect and kept it informative as well as fun! Don’t miss this when I’m Seattle!
I really love the hidden secrets different cities have. This is a prime example of this. You'd never know this underground place even existed if just casually walking by. It's pretty special to be able to explore this. I learnt about this underground tour while researching cool things to do in Seattle. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
