Looking for great cashew chicken? This is the place. Over the course of one week I tried cashew chicken from Bamboo Village and Snappy Dragon. BV had more chicken, that was velveted - so soft and tender, and no water chestnuts. SD had an overwhelming amount water chestnuts (half a cup) and less chicken that was not velveted for tenderness. Prices are competitive, but Bamboo Village's cashew chicken is superior.
As a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, i give this a five. Unlike many neighborhood places there is upkeep in the surrounding and inside. While a bit too bright, it makes you aware the place is clean. Friendly service, seems like family owned. Our food was served hot, was delicious and plentiful. This is definitely traditional American Chinese food, served with fresh ingredients. I came away impressed and will return.
Regret not coming here at all ever since I moved to Seattle 7 years ago. Constantly passed by this place since my friends live around here as well and we often brushed it off thinking the food wouldn’t be good. I regret always driving down to International District for dimsum thinking there isn’t around here. But today, everything changed and so happy that I decided to come give this place a try. We order our usual dimsum dishes such as spare ribs, chicken feet, bean curd roll, chive and shrimp dumplings, honey walnut prawn, shumai, and turnip cake. Rest assured everything is so fresh and you can tell that since they made their dimsum daily. Just by the time it took for them to bring out the turnip cake, you know that they literally fried it just now since it’s so crispy on the top unlike other places where they serve it soggy. Every dish have its own distinct flavoring where it’s not like those frozen dim sum takeouts where the shrimp dishes all taste similar. Also all 9 dishes came out to $57.05!!! Like what even is this place. Such a hidden gem that I’ll be coming back for more. No longer sleeping on this place no more!!!
Great dim sum, though you may wait a bit. I think there was only one person cooking, and one server at the time but the food was excellent. Meaty fillings and dishes.
I’ve actually never left a review in my entire life, however, I have never experienced worse customer service than I have today at Bamboo Village.I ordered to-go and when I arrived, the lady at the front confirmed/went over my order with me. I guess there was miscommunication over the phone and I let her know there was one additional dish they added that I didn’t order. As she took that dish out of the to-go bag she proceeded to basically harass me, telling me I did order it and that it was a waste of food. I was in shock but politely told her it was a mistake and that she must have misheard me over the phone. She rolls her eyes, tosses me the receipt to sign and heads over to the back of the kitchen. As I’m signing, I hear her ranting very loudly to the staff. She comes out of the kitchen and probably assumed I had already left, but I intentionally stayed so I could talk to her. I let her know I heard her in the back and that the way she was treating me was NOT nice. Whether or not there was a wasted plate of food, you should never treat your customers that way. She did not apologize even though she was in the wrong.I can’t speak for other employees, as it might have just been one bad apple. So if you do end up dining in/picking up, be prepared for the possibility of extremely poor customer service. It’s disappointing because the food was actually good, but because of this experience I will never be coming back here.
This is one of my go-to spots for Dim Sum. Their menu is small but does not lack in flavor. I can find all my favorite things here: chicken feet, ha gao, pork buns, spare ribs, porridge, and others to boot. I love coming here with a large group and getting just about everything on the menu. Pricing is good - usually comes out to be about $30/person and we are very satisfied and full at the end. Service is good and everyone is really friendly and accommodating.I have also come here for dinner and I've enjoyed their dinner combos too and their American Chinese food is quite tasty.
Bamboo Village dIm sum is better than ever! We've been coming here for years and have always been happy with the food and the service. Fortunately, because of increased demand for dim sum they have started making it fresh every day. While we loved it before (and it was never more than a day or two frozen), it's even better now.Don't be afraid to ask the server for recommendations--there may be a special dim sum item on the menu during your visit.
We ordered from Bamboo Village on New Years Eve 2021 for take out. All of the dishes had high quality ingredients and were very tasty. The duck which was a holiday special was really good. Really helpful friendly service. We ordered 12 different dishes, all good, all ready right when we arrived.
I've been coming here about three times per year for several years. They make some dim sum items excellently (har gow, siu mai, and other wrapped dumplings for example), and other stuff just ok. Its still one of the better dim sum places outside of the international district. It just seems to be a little up and down recently. A lot of the standard menu items are very good, but once in a while you'll get a dish which is overly salty or just doesn't seem to taste the same as before. Still, the wait staff is nice and generally handle things reasonably. I still plan on coming back to this place at least three times per year!
The har gao (shrimp dumplings) are big and juicy; so are the bbq pork buns. The egg tarts are flaky and delicious!
