We are so glad we tried Asadero in Ballard. We booked an outdoor table and had lunch there. We had beers, margarita and mangojito for drinks. For appetizers, we had bone marrows, guacamole casero, rajitas poblanas , extra orders of breads. For main, we had med rare Vacio, El Zabuton and Halibut tacos. Steaks were served on a sizzling hot plate. The plate was still warm an hour later. So make sure you order less cook meat, or you will need to remove it from hot plate to prevent over cooked steak. Everything tasted great and server Mitzy was very friendly and she told us she made all the cocktail drinks too. Definitely will go back and try more dishes!
Trendy and unique! A little over priced but still very good. The guacamole was extremely spicy. Meat was good, but remember if you like things less done (rare to medium), don't let the steak stay on the board they bring it out on or it will overcook. I absolutely loved the Mangjito and would highly recommend getting that if you like a sweet drink.
New York strip and carne asada were super tasty! Also the portion was quite big so I had leftovers for the next day. Bone marrow was very very rich, like meat butter. Rice was rice, and veggies were good but super expensive.I’d love to give this place 5 stars but I can’t because I feel like the carne asada got cold so fast!! My GF barely touched the beans cause they were barely room temp, and by the end of the meal the tortillas were already cold . The only saving grace was that my steak came with a hot stone and we ended up doing some makeshift Mexican bbq on the stone ?What I’m saying is, restaurant needs to serve their carne asada on hot (or hotter) plates. Or borrow your friend’s hot stone!(Also maybe it’s my fault but I couldn’t figure out what to do with the big pieces of salt, I’d honestly just prefer to have a grinder on the table ?)
Was disappointed in the torta and potato with steak. Nothing seemed very fresh or cooked well. I probably should have stuck with a proper steak. But not really planning to come back.
When someone asks me what restaurant to go to in Seattle I always say Asadero. It's been one of my favorites for many years and I'm glad the pandemic didn't take them away! Mexican and steak you can't go wrong! The meat just melts in your mouth. We just went a couple weeks ago and my favorite dish is the PRIME TENDERLOIN CHILE COLORADO but for some reason this last time it was so spicy and I even asked if they changed their recipe. The waiter said no but he didn't have a clue since he's only been working there for a couple of months. I wasn't happy but every other time it rocked! I think the majority of people order steaks but I'm a little odd. Don't get me wrong I love steak and I t's SO good! You can even go there and just get there baked potato and drinks and walk out of there full! Just sit at the bar. Everything you eat is a party in your mouth! I suggest reservations.
Best steak I have ever had. Had the American vagyu and it did not disappoint. Tender and full of flavor. Had potatoes on the side which were great but were shadowed by the steak. Service excellent and our waiter really knew his stuff, recommending the correct wines etc. All in all worth the visit although not cheap.
Took my boyfriend here for a date. The service was exceptional. He loved the Australian wagyu. The guac was pretty good and the salsas we're great. The drinks were standard. One feedback I have is the salt that came with the steak was hard to pick up off the hot stone, and would have been better served in a bowl.
Mexican steak house. We come here on some occasions. Good service and good food, beautiful presentation but a bit pricey. Cocktails are $10 + each.We (3 people) ordered 5 drinks, 3 steaks, 4 appetizers, 1 salad, and 2 desserts for about $330.This area is very busy, parking is a bit tricky. This place is very popular, make reservations ahead.Inside is very loud with music and cooking. So ask outdoor tables(heated) if you like to have connections with your party.
My daughter in law invited us to this restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. He had come to this place with work colleagues a week earlier and ate some of the best steaks. He was adamant we try as well. The restaurant is full, even in the middle of the week so reservation is recommended. This is not your typical Steakhouse but rather a nice, simple restaurant. It can gets quite loud with many people around. The menu is well priced with several Wagyu steack options. When the waitress came to give us menu, she highly recommended us a tomahawk wagyu steak which she showed in its packaging and told us there was several weight available and would provide price if we pick a specific one. At the time of order, we decided to get one to share between us but forgot to ask for price although she told us she would provide it. This ended up being one of the best steak I ate with an amazing sear, juicy meat and flavor of the spices you could taste in the meat itself. What we were not prepared to was the price which ended up being more than three times the prices of their most expensive steak on the menu and the most expensive steak we ever paid for. Since we were invited, we only found out when we drove back because my son and his wife were a bit in shock and try to understand why. If I had known before, I would have said something at the restaurant. Ultimately, I feel the approach from the waitress was a bit deceptive and she should have provided a price or price range when she recommended it as she told us she would do. It is always difficult when you are invited to ask or say something. The steack was prepared very well but it had a lot of fat and the ratio price, quality was not there. I would recommend to stick to the menu options unless you are ready to pay a hefty amount.
