Delicious food, reasonably priced. Seating can be a bit dodgy to find inside but it’s convenient location so close to Hing Hay Park makes it a great stop while in Chinatown for a picnic lunch outside in the fresh air of the international district.
Worst plate lunch I ever had. I ordered loco moco you get one dried beef patty one small egg over cooked and all rice with little brown gravy. I paid $13.50 for a plate of white rice and still asking for tips when you pay. Doesn’t deserve a star.
Went there to get fried banana balls for my son who really wanted to try them. Went there before they opened and waited. 11am and the wait continued for 7 mins at least. In the food service industry and retail you greet customers! 3 people there, they looked my way several times and not once did anyone say one word! I thought that was extremely rude, and didn't seem like a place that valued their customer or the customer's time. If they were running behind opening up or had an online order first thing, all they had to do was say welcome, we're sorry but we're still getting ready to open...We're doing a online order. We'll be with you shortly. Nobody was there before me. Had to tell my son I couldn't get the banana balls for him to try. He was disappointed. He had been looking forward to them for several days. Definitely will not be back. You can't use basic manners and respect with the public and customers, I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere. I planned on getting 4 which isn't alot of money, but definitely there's a principle involved as well as an opportunity for a repeat customer for the banana balls and other things that sounded great. Your loss Aloha Plates. If anyone else experienced or experiences this I would definitely suggest they leave a review about that
The building is confusing, it’s in a food court and there should be a sign on the correct door that tells you what restaurants are inside as it’s attached to a uijimayas. The food itself was meh, would not eat here again. Spent $105 on food for three people and it should have been $50 and that would be being nice. The rice is not cooked well in any food item that was got, it’s chewy and over cooked which is disappointing as I got shrimp and rice, which was just a whole lot of over cooked rice, the Mac salad they give you a small amount of but I mean it tasted like low quality Mayo so do you want more of a bad thing? Could get in any mall food court. Also, extra points removed because I ordered pickup and for some reason in a large order, they put the sauce in containers at the bottom of our food collapsing sauce and soaking the bag. Fail all around.
I ordered this through grub hub and got some teriyaki chicken. It was sub par. The rice wasn't fully cooked and the mac salad tasted like it was store bought. I was going to order a loco moco from here next week but after this I probably will not order again.
The kalua pork is a little wet. It needs a little crisp on the edges. I like that the teriyaki sauce is different than most. Not as thick and a little tangy!
Chicken breast katsu was pretty dry, considering that most joints use thigh cutlet. Fried banana balls were pretty off the wall. More like a Japanese teriyaki shop than Hawaiian food here.
Different flavors than your regular Hawaiian plates .. they stingy with the Mac salad though ?
Delicious food with a great staff. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Will come back and worth stopping in for affordable but quality food! One bite and I’m hooked!
So ono! This reminds me of living in Hawaii. I’ve ordered this food off Uber Eats twice and solid each time. Chicken katsu + Kalua pork all the way! Their musubi is also very decedent.
