Pretty good Izakaya with nice ambience and good service. The food could’ve been a bit better though. Some of the yakitori is dry and not tasty enough.
Excellent food, equally great service. You scan the QR code on your table and order your food right from your phone, and soon after, out comes your food to your table. Make reservations if you can - the place was pretty busy Saturday night.
Tried 2 typical dishes. Lots of rice. Wish there could be more veggies to balance the heavy flavor. Otherwise too much carbs of white rice. Yummy food.
Cozy little restaurant with some hard to find skewer items. I loved the chicken heart skewer - cooked to perfection. The chicken skin skewer was not as crispy as I expected. The beef tongue skewer was delicious too. Unexpected, one of my favorite items was the creamy udon with mentaiko! Perfect blend of creaminess and saltiness in the sauce with noodles that had a good chew to them. I will definitely be back!
I’d say the environment is okey but the taste doesn’t worthy the price. I tried some beef on rice, Just feel too much soy sauce and meat is not cooked well. Also, I strongly not recoupment the bbq chicken wings, they are over cooked and have too much oil. I’d say they are worse than any regular fried chicken in any fast food restaurant.I may not get my order right, but I will never come back again.
The worst yakitori ever. Expensive than average. And they put Okonomiyaki sauce on yakitori skewers. SMH ?♀️?♀️?♀️ they have no idea with Japanese food. Salty and not juicy at all..this place just killed my vibe today ?
Came for lunch on a Sunday and was promptly seated. Lunch comes with your choice of green or black tea. You order with your phone and everything is brought out quickly. The small dish set alone was worth the trip! The wagyu tataki donburi is so tender and rich. The only item we didn’t really like was the wagyu tsukune. The A5 wagyu made up for it. Definitely want to come back and try more.
So happy to see Shinya Shokudo open a branch in Redmond. Have a Japanese style bistro near home!
This place reminded me a ton of some of the izakaya experiences I had while I stayed in Japan. The vibe was just right, the highballs were flowing, and the service was that sort of quiet but efficient type you can normally count on in Japanese restaurants. You do all your ordering through the phone, including for alcohol, and each dish or drink seems to come out as soon as it is ready. The menu is mostly yakitori, and I'd maybe like to see a couple more options that aren't things on a stick, but everything that I tried was absolutely delicious. From the chicken liver to the soba, it all tasted fantastic. Add to that their hours on weekends, I have a feeling this will be a go-to comfort spot for me on Friday nights.
Our team had dinner at Shinya Shokudō last night - all new dishes for me and delicious! Great evening for the Team!!
