With great portion size, friendly staff and quick service this is a nice place. We wanted some dinner and tried this place. I took the pollo asada which was good. My wife took the taco asada which was good as well. I really liked the flavors of the rice which complimented the dish well. We also took a horchata which was okay as well.
An absurdly large platter of food, El Toreador is where you get your money's worth of Mexican food. Near everything comes covered with cheese, even the chile relleno, which is stuffed with cheese to begin with. Complimentary tortilla chips with red and chipotle salsa arrives first, and I recommend ordering the horchata to accompany them. The enchilada is heaped with sour cream and was the best part of my plate. Prepare to ask for a to go box.
Good little joint in downtown Redmond. Good selection of entrees, and food is quite good. Well seasoned and good portions. The selection of salsas is very good. Recommend if you are in the mood for a quick bite in downtown Redmond. Better lit and more family friendly than the Matador across the way. Also, Molly Moon's is next door. So when you eat that spicy burrito you can save the day later with some ice cream.
Was really excited to try this place out, on account of reviews, but really do not feel like it lives up to its name. Despite being family owned, I very much just felt like a customer - wanted me in and out. No time for pleasantries, just a "what do you want" and plates thrown our way. Food was pretty good but on par pricing-wise for the rest of Redmond. Chips and salsa are out of this world good. Overall, think this would be a great place with some better service.
Amazing food and service.
This place is delicious…you walk in and the first thing you smell are those fresh house made tortillas and chips,So friendly and very on top of their game with Vaccine checks, and as an immune compromised individual it is absolutely amazing to see them take it so seriously. Made me feel so much more at ease with eating out since since it’s something I no longer do often if at all anymore, but my kids wanted to get me out and told me how wonderful the food at El Toreador was and they were so very right, thank you for great food and a safe environment for the immunocompromised individuals in your community!!!
Always excellent food and great service. Never disappoints!
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Redmond. It is a no frills place, you go for the food. The food is a wide array of traditional Mexican options. The staff knows my entire family and always greets us nicely. During the height of the pandemic we did take out. This place is good for the whole family including young kids. And they make nice drinks for adults too.
Unfortunately this place continues to be a bit of a let down. The fajitas were served literally in a plate of oil and grese, they were also served 10mins after my wife's entree was, such a shame.Would not recommend really, sloppy cooking and kitchen just doesn't care it seems. Our waitress was nice and did her job but the kitchen needs to get some stronger disciplineWill NOT be returning.
Worst service we’ve ever had tonight! Brought the wrong drinks then waited 20 minutes for the correct ones. Then told they don’t make shrimp quesadillas when we have ordered them before so whatever ordered chicken only to be served cheese. Asked for it to be replaced only to wait 40 minutes!!! Asked for bill and charged the whole amount. Asked 2 people to talk to a manager and they never showed. Clearly they do t care about their customers. Used to be a favorite spot. Not anymore!!!
