Bland, overpriced. The food was bland. Very mediocre.Miso soup costs about $6. For the quality, I'd pay 50 cents. It looks like packet miso soup. I always get miso soup from Japanese restaurants.Tempura sauce tastes like water. Luckily, we have a mass-produced bottled tempura sauce that we almost never use when we order out because it is supposed to be inferior. Little did I know, we would be given colored water.Meat was tough, especially the chicken and the "shrimp" tempura. Like it's a week old then thrown in the oven.Their meals costs anywhere from $13 to $20. I WOULD pay this much for Japanese if it was good, especially for niche - like katsu curry, or eel. I was expecting more from the teriyaki, but it came with very little rice, and some shredded cabbage that Asian restaurants usually put under fried food. It's not even funny anymore. for $13, I'd have expected a macaroni salad or anything better than sliced cabbage.Their sushi, is very mediocre. Like supermarket store mediocre, but costs more. Everything just costs more.I'd argue that you'd better off going to some place like Safeway. Now, was I just unlucky? Maybe, but first impressions last. They were about 10 miles away, and had to pay exorbitant delivery fee to try their food, because they would get the food earliest to us (it was 10:15am, most restaurants open at 11). But as soon as I placed my order, they changed delivery estimate time from 11:15 to 11:45. I should have waited.
I never write reviews. This is one of my first in years. Ordered a door dash pickup and they refused to make my order. Claimed the order never came through despite my having a receipt and would not even look at it. Didn’t want to make it even after I asked. Rudest experience I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If I could give zero stars I would.
I like this place! The food is excellent and the service has been good as well. I used to eat in before COVID, but these days they are take-out only. I usually call ahead and my order is typically ready by the time I get there.
Good food fare prices. Visit them when you can. Great for lunchtime
Kyoto Teriyaki does an excellent job with everything they make. Its my go to Teriyaki!
Love this place! They have great food. Looks like a family own place that serve large portions.
Really really good food, flavorful, perfect sized portions, reasonable prices, and nice service ?
So quick to get off the phone she didn't even understand what I was ordering. Didn't even take my name down. Ordered maybe $30 of food and it was over $50. Online pictures of menu are completely wrong says spicy online Is under $8 it's $13 in the restaurant. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
I think their food gave me food poisoning!! I had diarrhea 3 times after I ate their food!! I would not recommend this place!!
As we told the employees, "Our complements to the chef and all the staff". This didn't feel so much as being a restaurant, rather it felt like the extension of someone's home. From the front counter staff to the back of house staff, we didn't feel rushed or hounded like other restaurants. Now for the food.WOW! OH, WOW! We ate everything we could and took the rest home with us. The portions were very generous and the beef teriyaki was some, if not in the top 2, of the best we had ever had.Now to explain the portion sizes, we had enough rice after we ate our fill to come home and make fried rice for both of us and our 18 year old son and still have left overs. The left over teryaki we had was more than enough from our lunches.Next time we are in the same area we will be stopping back for more.
