Our reservation was for 6pm. We arrived on time. Waitress was pleasant. Our appetizers were the bacon wrapped dates and the stuffed mushrooms. The dates would have been good except they were obviously reheated in a microwave and the bacon was overcooked. The stuffed mushrooms were freshly made and fairly good. We placed our entree orders at 6:10pm and got them ONE hour later. The waitress apologized twice saying the cook had "dropped/misplaced/lost" our "ticket order." My lamb chops were absolutely, completely tasteless. I might as well have been chewing a sponge. Coffee was lukewarm and horrid. Root vegetables were overcooked. Will never go back. Prawns/fettuccine average.
Great atmosphere and wine. Had the Italian Sausage soup tonight. So Good! And service is always top notch !
Bay Street Bistro has the ambiance thats inviting and very welcoming. I feel like the piano is a nice touch and they have a ton of art so there is plenty to look at in this establishment. I'm a big fan of the old industrial look.I feel this restaurant would be the best in class except for the price is astronomically expensive two steaks will run you 82 dollars and then two glasses of wine and an appetizer will bring the price up to 100+. We only ate two appetizers and that ran us $30. I feel like they could reduce the price and earn more money. ? I hope this gives you insight into the price.I've wanted to go here for a long time and now I know why it's usually empty. I think this is their loss leader and their actual business is the apartments above.
Everything tastes awesome, haven't had a bad interaction with staff, they are very friendly, the only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is the temperature and draft, it is freezing cold! Love this place and recommend it for a great date night, but wear something fairly warm. Can't wait to go back!
Great service from JD Reasonable prices Great atmosphere
Straight to the point:It was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Management does not deserve your businessOur experience:Rude staff, slow, and disappointing food. The restaurant was slow due to understaffing and the servers were rude when we asked for help. It took us a while to realize that many staff members were not wearing masks. When we asked out of curiosity why they weren’t, we were told that we “could leave if we didn’t like it.” I decided to stay because it was a really important birthday for my mom. When my food came (over 90 minutes later) it was lukewarm because there was no staff to bring it to our table when it was fresh. Since they were short staffed I really tried to be understanding, but the last straw was when I asked for a fork and was told “there are other people here besides you.” It seems pretty reasonable to politely ask for a fork when a place setting is missing - I assure you I did not ask repeatedly for a fork. As for the food, it was substandard.Iced tea took 80 minutes to arrive at our table because it had to be brewed fresh and the server was the bartender. Couldn’t they just say that they can’t offer iced tea and save everyone the misery?Coffee took about 30 minutes because they insisted it was french press and (you guessed it) the server was in charge of making all drinks for the restaurant. Just don’t offer coffee if you are understaffed.A glass of wine took 90 minutes… not sure why. I got lucky because I ordered a cosmo right away. Truth be told that cosmo was fabulous but not worth any of the trouble. My one star is because of the cosmo. In case you are wondering, yes we did have a reservation.
Happy new year! Bay Street Bistro for the win
Our visit started out good with the service and appetizers but even though we had a reservation after 1 1/2 hour we asked our server how much longer for our dinner. She came back and said 12 minutes. After seeing other people that came after us paying their ticket 20 minutes later I decided to just leave. They apologized and comp our tea, soda & appetizer which is what they should have done.
First time here since we moved from Texas to WA. We came here Friday night because I was craving steal. I refuse to go to the big chain restaurants. When we arrived we were well receieved and welcomed amd seated immediately. Love this mom & pop place which has been set up real nicely. The menu has the right amount of selections without it being overwhelming and hard to keep up with. Service was excellent. Would like to promote and recommend this local place to anyone. Be patient, kind and tip well as the service industry has been hit hard.
Our server was awesome and the food was even better. A little on the pricey side but well worth going to again
