The food was really good, definitely the best eggs benedict I've had in a while. I'm only giving 3 stars because masks are required while standing up, which makes no sense since the dining area is about 100 square feet, and masks aren't required when sitting down. We got up to pay after eating (around 1:40 pm) and someone came up to the register and said they're closed. We said we just wanted to pay and they said we needed masks, regardless of the fact we weren't wearing them at our table, about 5 feet away. So I went over to grab a mask, then immediately took it off since we were done paying. Total waste of a mask. I was especially confused since earlier I had seen someone in the back with their mask hanging from one ear. If they're gonna have that rule, enforce it with everyone. And if you're that concerned with health, do some more cleaning; masks aren't gonna mop your floors. The dining area also smelled similar to a rest stop bathroom. Normally I really wouldn't care, it's downtown Olympia, but overall it was a frustrating experience.
We really enjoyed our breakfast from this hole in the wall Cafe. The food was delicious and in generous portions. They also give free meals to those who can't afford them and we actually watched them do this while waiting for our order. The only dislike I have is there is very limited seating, but we just got our food to go, and you have to wait outside so I can see that being a concern in the rain. But we would definitely go back. The server was very calm and friendly and kept us updated on our food/ wait status.
Delicious! Best eggs Benedict.
Friendly small restaurant. The food was so good, we had breakfast here several times on this trip to Olympia. Food is organic, very good, and large quantities. The homemade blackberry preserves are the best. My husband had an omelet. Vegan options are available.
Pro Tip: Order for pick up if possible. The best experience will be dining in, be prepared for a long wait, it will be worth it. Check the menu before arriving and be prepared to order to expedite the service. While on a road trip we stopped for breakfast at this innovative and wonderful cafe. The reviews are great and with good reason, but the vibe is much better than the reviewers can describe. Awesome atmosphere with local art adorning the walls, a festive and creative environment where staff is upbeat and friendly. And that’s just the beginning, the food was outstanding, with plenty of vegetarian options sure to please even the most carnivorous appetite and maybe even covert you to a veggie eating lover, is that good. However, protein options are available to satisfy every palette. The place is small, with tables accommodating probably no more than 6 people. Although cozy, not for very large parties. One visit isn’t enough as there is so much good food to choose from.
Absolutely DELICIOUS vegan breakfast! The smoked tempeh is to die for. The toast, herbed tofu, and hash browns are perfect together. Amazing job by the chefs. This meal made my work day so much better. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy vegan cafe food. ❤️
They check vaccine cards for dine in, take out just needs a mask. I had biscuits & sausage gravy with rosemary roasted potatoes. My friend was able to accommodate food allergies and enjoyed her food as well. My food was great, wait staff super friendly, and very attentive. Small dining area, but no rush while eating. Will definitely be going back.
Glad they’re checking vaccines before indoor dining. But this place is over-rated. Did not live up to the hype. One good thing, the jam was tasty. Everything else was just okay. After ordering, I waited 20 minutes for a “bottomless“ cup of coffee and never got a refill. They didn’t bring creamer until I asked for it again. $3+ for one 6 oz coffee is a rip off. My hash browns were very greasy and not crispy as I’d requested. Food wasn’t very hot. “Homemade” sausage was bland. I really don’t see what others find so great. Not worth any wait, though we only waited 15 minutes for a table. It’s nice that they offer food to those who can’t afford to pay for it.
Finally a pancake that reflects my spirituality. Get here early and you shouldn't have trouble getting a seat. That being said, indoor seating is limited. Loved it.
So grateful I found this gem of a spot! Staff were welcoming and very friendly and the food was AMAZING!! I got the vegan tofu scramble and just about inhaled it, so so tasty! Loads of options, whatever your dietary needs are. Can’t wait to visit again whenever I pass through Olympia!
