The vegan menu here is amazing! Gigantic portions, great staff, fast service.
I have a high-risk toddler who's too young to be vaccinated, so I was pretty excited to discover that the Lacey El Sarape offered curbside pickup on their website. Unfortunately, when I actually arrived to pick up my food (parking in the clearly labeled CURBSIDE PICKUP spots), it turns out I was required to go inside to collect my order. The food was good, but please don't advertise a service you don't actually offer.
This review is for the El Sarape in Lacey.I want to start by saying, I have been a patron to this restaurant, my entire life and it’s for good reason.The food never disappoints and the staff is always on top of their game! *Shout out to: Haley, Bartender and Jorge, server*. You guys are incredible!Monday 4/4, I decided to try the molcajete, as I had been eyeing it for many years. I went with steak and holy smokes was it incredible! There’s a slight sweetness to it, with sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms. Throw on the fresh pico de gallo and lettuce, provided on a plate with rice and beans and your taste buds will sing.Side note: It is a lot of food! So, unless you want leftovers (I did), you may want to share this one.
Order their fajitas, you'll be happy you did! Chicken, steak and shrimp options and I promise there's not a wrong choice! Excellent prices, great food and very family friendly staff!
The food was good. I had two street tacos. One chorizo and one shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked but very, very tasty. The sauce was great. I had never had chorizo before, but it was also good. My daughter had an asada burrito and said that the steak was very tender and tasty.The service was very slow. We needed time to decide what to order, and it took forever, over 20 minutes to have someone return to take our order. Then another 20 minutes to get our food. They weren't very busy either. I asked for our bill and it took 10 minutes to get it.
Food was OK, but no thought whatsoever as to how to eat it if you pick up. That is truly odd, since they have designated pickup parking spaces, so they are aware there will be pick up orders. We ordered for three, they put all the orders together family style. Three different flavors of enchilada all in the same take out container. No plates, only one fork for three people. we used the lids of the containers as plates and found a second fork from another adventure. Not sure I will be back, the Pho next door is awesome however.On the plus column, the side of refried beans was large enough to feed three people for three days.
Great vegan menu options. Gordo Burrito is huge and delicious.
Their vegan menu is excellent. Now you can enjoy your favorite cheesy near Tex-Mex even if you don't want to eat meat. Also the staff has been so friendly throughout the pandemic as I get takeout from them.
Great food, awesome margaritas. The large combo plate really means large. 3 full sized entrees to pick from including a ridiculously big tamale.This picture does it no justice on how big it is.
Great restaurant and a great bar in the back! Good food and even better service keeps me coming back.
