Incredible food, excellent service

Met up with a friend here because I have celiac, which can make finding safe places to eat out difficult. This restaurant goes out of its way to make gluten-free dining accessible, and has a good reputation for being safe for people with celiac. The food was good. I had a mushroom burger and side salad with a basil-lemon cider. The gluten-free bun was soft and had a lovely texture, the mushrooms were sauteed just right, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the dressing was refreshing and well-balanced. The cider was excellent, and I will definitely be bringing my husband here at some point so he can try it.Our waiter was welcoming and willing to chat, but also thoughtfully pulled back when he saw we were busy catching up.

Trumpeter has a British pub feel, and our waitress was excellent, but the appeal stops there. They charge a lot for their shepherd’s pie, which wasn’t all that wonderful. Parking can be difficult.

literally overpaid for "bubble and squeak" which was nothing more than sliced corn beef deli meat smothered in minced garlic. that's hardly a culinary accomplishment, you guys.

I'd heard good things about this restaurant so when my daughter invited me up her way for a Mother's Day Dinner, I suggested this. I was wrong. There were many nice tables further into the cozy back area but we were seated in a cold front 'picnic' table type area. Our waitress was sweet but not terribly capable. I ordered a sparkling water with lime which came readily. Then we ordered dinner. We waited an hour, even though it wasn't terribly busy. While we waited, my rumbling tummy needed something warm to keep hunger at bay so I asked for and received a lovely spiced tea. an hour later, my daughter's filet came, but set before me was a pot pie of sorts when I'd ordered the chicken piccata. She apologized and said she'd put the order in wrong. But as she offered to put it in correctly, I told her I was concerned as it had taken over an hour just to get the erroneous order. She then brought a lovely corn chowder soup to placate me, though I can't eat corn (didn't tell her this..it was a nice gesture). Finally, my order came but in order to facilitate rapid cooking, the chicken had been microwaved, I think, because it came our pale and rubbery. I was disappointed as the dishes were not inexpensive. I just asked for a to go box as I no longer had an appetite. Midway into our second hour there, readying to go shortly, my daughter asked for a to go order of fish and chips for her husband. We waited another 15 minutes till the waitress came back again saying they were out of cheese for the garlic bread, apparently not yet having prepared the fish and chips order. My daughter asked that they just bring the fish and chips. 10 minutes later it arrived and I asked that we get some type of discount for the very long waits and numerous order errors. We received a $4.90 discount, and what they counted as further discount of no charge for my corn chowder (not ordered) and my spiced cup of tea, totaling a whopping $9+ discount. Not to mention the Fish and Chips without the bread which was charged at full price. We won't be returning.

Had a great night at a table for one. Had a two meals (lol) and some wine while studying. Really relaxing vibe with blues music and the right lighting. Great for work or a fun night with friends. The Shrimp Mac & Cheese is phenomenal. And the wine is pretty good, especially for Mount Vernon where you really can’t get a good glass of wine anywhere (except Bertelsen’s Winery). Also, the owner, Paul, is awesome. He was very friendly, greeted me and showed me to my table. He took time to share his wine recommendations (he selects them himself) and check back in on me later.

Tasty tasty! Friendly and amazing beer, especially the Next Haze of Life! Food was delicious. Very busy when we went in - no problem for our attentive server, Jessica. She was awesome. Our first time there. We’ll be back!?

My husband and I have been going here for about 7 years now. It used to be our favorite restaurant in Skagit County. We love the gluten free options. Our favorite dishes are the crab cakes, crab mac, and crab dip. Their drinks used to be amazing as well. However, after Covid happened, their quality over all has rapidly declined. Especially their drinks!! Which is super disappointing since they’re pricy. When I go out to a nice restaurant, I except to taste the booze in the drinks. We just went there last night and my family and I confirmed that we couldn’t taste the alcohol or even feel it. I even asked for a double and it still tasted weak. The past 3 times we’ve been there in the past year, they have been so weak and disappointing. The quality of their food and how much crab they use in their dishes has changed as well. I don’t think we will be going back here, unfortunately.

Awesome gluten free food. I have never been disappointed when we eat here. The food tastes amazing.

Loved this place. The food is very well done. There was four of us for a birthday and all of us were thoroughly impressed with the food and the restaurant as a whole.
