I had written a review years ago & have now revisited after Covid. Service was great, altho I did come early...11ish. Had the soup of the day which was zesty Tortilla soup. Definitely made from scratch. Chunks of tomato & properly seasoned. Also, you can get a 'top & bottom' garlic bread instead of having to order a whole side. And my favorite here is the small draft beer. I cannot finish a pint so totally a waste of money. Perfect place to come if you are a light eater!
Food was ok but there was no heat in the building except for a few space heaters. They had been without a furnace for 6 weeks. Wish we would have known before we sat down.
The fish and chips are delicious. The cod is very moist and the meat absolutely glows. Crispy beer batter is super light and tasty while the Fries are great...especially with a lemon and malt vinegar shower.Chowder is creamy with ton of clams.Friday is all you can eat...starve yourself all day and go in there with a purpose.
Awesome breakfast and reasonably priced. Hidden away in a quiet area. Super friendly staff. Had a great time.
Gentlemen Gene's is what comes to my mind, when the phrase hometown bar is used. The staff is polite, attentive, and you're treated like family!

My friends & I met to chat about the future! This was the first time back since covid. The food & drinks were as good as remembered. The atmosphere was comfy and welcoming. We will be back!
