Of the Chinese food restaurants I've visited in Longview, this is the best. The decor is showing its age, but it is still pleasant to my eye, and I like it here. The service was not as good this time, there were struggles in the kitchen with timeliness. The Pot stickers we intended for an appetizer came to us after we finished our meal. :( Delicious food, pleasant server, slow kitchen. Still love it though.
As a child my family would come to this restaurant. I've lived out of state for almost 20 years now and everytime we visit WA, we make it a point to stop here. They have the best War Won Ton Soup ever! .... And fair barbecued pork is delicious however this time it was pretty dry unfortunately. Our server was amazing! I think her name was Danielle!
Excellent food. Big portions. Wonderful staff. I'm so happy the restaurant and lounge are now open for dining. It's definitely my favorite Chinese food restaurant. Yummo!
So I have tried to order from this restaurant twice now. No staff to be found anywhere. After waiting about 5 awkward minutes. Then a staff said, "just you?" I confirmed and there was no welcome the person just walked away. Other staff passed by and laughed but did not welcome me or say one moment...ridiculous. I tried to see if I could order from the bar but again just eye contact but no hello or can I help you. Only 3 men sitting at the bar. Apparently they don't want my business! This is the second time I've walked in and not been served. I thought I would try again but. Oh well
Had high expectations initially when I first came in. The decor was appropriate but on close examination was not clean..... carpets, tables (grime), ceiling tiles. Walk fabric was peeling. Seating and ordering went very fast. The waitress was nice but could have been more attentive during the meal. The two orders ordered were Mongolian beef and broccoli beef. Soups were hot and sour and egg flower. Everything was bland. While the entrees were cooked OK, flavors were not developed. The BBQ pork was tender and most but had no flavor. The fly at the end of the meal buzzed our table and further made the outing unenjoyable.
All 3 meals were great. Large portions and unique flavor that is wonderful. Love your honey glazed shrimp.
Very impressed with this place. I didn’t even know it was here. Overly friendly staff huge huge portions and very delicious. Best one I have found so far in this area
Cute place inside, very, very nice staff!! They let us know they were understaffed and it would take a long time. No problem for us. We were served hot tea 10/10 and water but not offered anything else, hubby got a beer from the full service bar. We ordered the crab puffs: they were cute but had absolutely zero flavor. You could barely taste the cream cheese and the sauce they were served with was just sweet and sour sauce. Won't order that again. My husband ordered a dinner combo plate with chow mein, pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and BBQ pork. The BBQ pork was dry and he didn't eat it, the sweet and sour he said was "mediocre at best", the rice needed seasoning and a lot of soy but he LOVED the chow mein and wanted to order more lol. I ordered the cashew chicken with veggies and pork fried rice: what I got was an entire head of chopped celery with a few peas and carrots with very fatty chicken and 5 over cooked cashews on top. I scooped off an entire plate of just celery trying to find some chicken that was good. I must say, however, that the flavor was amazing. It reminded me of Thanksgiving. Less celery by at least half, add a variety of veggies and you guys would have something that would win awards. I had to drench my pork fried rice in soy sauce for it to have flavor. Our bill was approx $85.We don't think we will be back any time soon which is really sad because the people there are so wonderful and accommodating. Some menu tweaks would do this place well in our opinion.
The experience was terrible. I used to love Chinese Gardens, but it's been going downhill ever since the new owners showed up. Everything was incredibly overpriced, and the food quality was lacking. If I'm gonna spend extra, I expect the food to be good. The small wonton soup was three wontons in a bowl of a poor excuse for soup broth. It tasted like wontons that were sitting in warm water. Safe to say, I don't recommend it.
Not much for writing reviews, but my goodness this place was bad...I should've went with my gut and gone somewhere else. I will say that the dinner combo portions are American ++ sized so you won't leave hungry, if you can manage to eat enough. The food left a lot to be desired. Wait staff was very friendly but a bit slow to get to us when we needed them, and it wasn't a busy night. I know we're seeing some inflation, but the prices are sky high. Value definitely was not there in the end.
