Lovely little Cafe. Food was wonderful. It's nice to have a local restaurant that has espresso available.
Great food, warm atmosphere and huge portions. Little bit of a wait, but worth every minute! Would absolutely go again.

This was my first time coming to this place because of one my best friends took me out to eat brunch for my birthday, my best friend has been here before and she liked it so she thought I would too. There’s was no wait for 3 people during a rush brunch hour, and we’re seated right away. The waitress was so nice and very sweet. The food- oh my goodness 10/10. It wasn’t salty and oily (like some breakfast cafes and joints)! Which I love and eating the leftovers the next morning wasn’t soggy but very fresh!I’ll be taking my family here when I’m in lakewood! This place is great affordable, and have AMAZING service and food!
Very small place and hours of operation aren't very long but food was amazing. Everytime I would see a meal delivered to a table I wanted to change my order but was glad I didn't after receiving my food. Highly recommended for breakfast. You will not be disappointed with food or prices.
My friend suggested we have breakfst at the Moon Rise Cafe saying: "he hadn't been there in awhile, but remembered how good it was". So off we went to the Lakewood Mall where we found the cafe tucked in next to a driving school. I remembered seeing it many times over the years, but always dismissed it thinking it probably wasn't very good. Boy was I wrong! Stepping inside we found every table occupied with customers, luckily one couple was just finishing and in 5 minutes we were seated and looking at the menue. Note: they only have a breakfast and lunch menue and are not open for dinner. That said, their menue offers ample choices of good old "home cooked" meals with options like, home fries, biscuits and gravy (SOS), waffles, egg omlets, sandwiches, salads, etc. and the portions are very generous. I chose a mushroom egg omlet with home fries and wasn't able to finish even though I was good and hungry. The omlet was fluffy (not over cooked and rubbery) and had a generous amount of mushrooms and fetta cheese. Four slices of rye toast with a delicious boysenberry preserve complemented my meal. I should have known how good this place was by observing everyone eat as we waited to be seated; the smell wafting from the kitchen was marvelous. In closing, do yourself a "solid" and visit the Moon Rise Cafe, you won't be disappointed. I know I will be coming back again for sure.

Our server/service was great food was very good portions are generous. We will eat there again. Only drawback is limited seating.
