Bought some asada meat here the past couple times and it was great but today I went in and got some for dinner. Come to find out it’s all bad it has such a sour bitter taste. they must’ve left their meat out and it spoiled. I had a similar problem with las Palmas in Lacey and never returned just like I will never return here for meat. It’s waste of money and time you better off just hitting a taco truck because a lot of Mexican stores don’t know how to store meat properly. This is coming from a Mexican I’m disappointed in my people and the products they provide at their stores. I will never buy meat here again sad I can’t even enjoy homemade tacos without the fear of it having bones or being spoiled anymore!
Nice small Mexican grocery store with a good butcher's counter. We picked up some milanesa to make for dinner that night and it was excellent cut and quality.
My son went into their Mercado to purchase chorizo & Mexican bread and the workers kept speaking in Spanish (knowing he did not understand) and looking at him and laughing. When I called to speak with a manager, they hung up on me. My son is 1/2 Mexican, WAS brought up around the Mexican culture (especially the food as we ALWAYS make our Mexican food from scratch) but not the language. He stopped in to by Mexican bread for his 2 year old nice and he was mocked. Neither my son nor I will visit that establishment again!
Having grown up in Texas, there are certain things one cannot find at a local grocery store. Ingredients, spices, chilis etc. Thank the stars in the rating above that I found thus little gem.Although my Spanish is not perfect, I am still able to get everything I need with a smile. And not to worry, there is always someone working there that speaks English. Although good to keep up on my skills. Lol.I stopped in for some carne and pollo and ended up filling my basket and fed a family of. Six for less than the local grocery store. The community there is friendly and inviting so do not shy away from an amazing place in our town. The produce is fresh. The spices are of higher quality and lower prices than you can find elsewhere and the fresh meat is the staple for any authentic meal. Try the carnita or the asada. You will come back again and again. ( I get a cast iron super hot and flash fry to perfection )Los Amigos is worth a visit. And even more worth return trips to sample what will soon become your favorite stop as you run errands in the area. Enjoy! I do!
Good quality. Little cramped but it adds to the experience and atmosphere.Dont be shy if your spanish is rusty or non existant. They'll make the effort to communicate patiently with you or if you want to practice spanish to work around your limitations. If you ask for it, they'll even kindly recommend good meats for whatever you intend or what sort of seasoning to use based on palate or preference.Definitely coming back.
Love, love, love, the fresh sweet bread!
It is a small Mexican store but have literally everything from cut up tres leches cake, to Mexican bread, vegetables and carnisero. The only two things that’d reduce the stars is the access to its location parking lot which is not very well marked in the ground, and the fact that it’s expensive to shop there. Their product is at higher price, but worth it.
Best pan dulce(pastry) I had.Taste like freshly baked
I absolutely love this place. Great little latin store with all your latin needs
I Gave 1 star ONLY Because I had to give a star! the place has a funky smell... Their meat did not look fresh, it had darks spot on it and a Strong Funky smell to it.. yuck.. The owner was did not wear gloves and was stocking the shelves then would walk behind the counter of the meat and touch the meat with out washing his hands . WE WALKED OUT...
