Got the chicken basket with cheese curds. Gravy (which is the best part of a chicken basket) was watery. The cheese curds just tasted off, like the fry oil was over used or something. Everything else was "eh".I frequent the DQ in Yelm and it's much better.
This place is decent, but the only things I will get from now on is the fried to order onion rings/ Cheese curds and a blizzard, but otherwise then that I would honestly pass. The chicken strip basket and fries combo didn't taste fresh (I could get fresher tasting/ cheaper ones elsewhere). Fries were soggy, the toast wasn't toasted (only lightly buttered). Tried to go back today for something different, but the hot dog was cold and the bacon and cheese that I added didn't feel cooked enough and wasn't melted (ended up only eating half of it before I tossed it). Like I said I will only go back for those two things.
The restaurant offers 100% transparency of the kitchen you see all of the staff not just the ones taking your order. Food is handled from start to finish by clean cut well mannered individuals. Food tastes exceptionally good being very prompt through the drive-thru as well as restaurant you can see kitchen and food start to finish from both drive through and diner
I think it was a decent dairy queen. Don't confuse the three stars for hating on it; it is, after all, a corporate chain using frozen, internationally shipped ingredients. My #1 was what I expected. I ate bites of my kids' burgers and woah, just a dry, rubbery patty on a dry bun absent ketchup, mayo, mustard, cheese, and any possible topping. I suppose I could have asked for those things, but typically when options are possible service provides them at time of order. The fries were a 6/10. The mini blizzards were as expected. The kids' meal milks came with straws that required a surgeon's hands to use effectively. The facility was a 7/10 on cleanliness, a 6/10 on stocked for customer use; straws empty, ketchup smears on pump, un-bused tables, and the restroom was about the same. The area is great! Walk to the park and playground at WA Bush, or just down the sidewalks of College or Yelm. The cherry blossoms in this area are beautiful in late April/early May.
The ice cream is delicious blizzards and milkshakes on point the food is hit and miss though...
Got to check the burgers every time before you drive away. Legit not hard to just put ketchup on a burger but they nearly mess it up every single time. The quality has also dropped in just the past few months. The patty's have been looking not so appetizing.
No point in going here if you want decent crispy fries. This location loves to throw your main meal on top of them so they get soggy and nasty. They dont care of you ask them not too
Good food, just would like people taking orders were very impatient and was super pushy..that it okay
Won’t be coming here again, at least through drive through. They have workers eating fries then putting them into bags and out the window. The one that was doing it, blond and blue hair, she saw me watching her and still put them in the bag and out the window. Disgusting.
Ice cream is the best, and onion rings are good, but the new rotisserie chicken pieces are the worst, it's sponge, don't have much taste of chicken, I don't even know if it's even got chicken in it. It's cut into chunks, like it comes in a rectangle baking pan, and sliced into the same size of pieces. It don't look like rotisserie chicken, it's like the cheap brand of chicken nuggets without the breading, the kind that has the scraps of the chicken and the lot of fake stuff to hold it together. They don't even have the gravy anymore, and the Texas toast is just thin white bread toasted with oil on top, not butter. I use to enjoy the chicken strip basket, but then the strips got smaller, then they were mostly crispy batter with thin slivers of chicken in the batter. We've cut some up to see and that's what they were. So we stopped getting them, but thought chunks of chicken, I'll try it, and NOPE, WAIST OF MONEY. I'm happy with the ice cream items, that's what Dairy Queen is known for the best ice cream.
