Overall: I would definitely go back and try more of the menu!FOOD:Pork Belly Bao $4 (pork belly slow braised in soy and mirin, fresh slaw, hoisin peanut sauce, served on a Chinese steamed bun): I did not enjoy this bao which is hard for me since I love bao! There was too much of everything else and not enough pork belly. The piece of pork belly was so thin and small that you barely tasted it.Combo Plate Chicken Karaage and Hawaiian Fried Chicken $15 (Karaage - boneless fried chicken with sweet and tangy house sauce; Fried Chicken - boneless fried chicken with garlic sesame soy chili sauce): Both the karaage and Hawaiian fried chicken was very good. The chicken were fried pretty well but most of the crispiness disappears due to the sauce coated on the outside. The flavor was there but not the crispiness but that is partly my fault for expecting Japanese style karaage.Chop Chop Salad (romaine heart, ham, apples, tomato, cilantro, red onions, parmesan, and provolone cheese): No price as this is included with any plate item. I liked but didnt like the salad (if that makes sense). There is a lot of dressing as its fully coated every item in the salad which is actually a huge plus to me BUT I'm not a fan of ham or fruit being in my salad.Da Hilo Boy Burger $14 (Loco moco burger - charred beef patty, caramelized onion, smoked bacon confit, mushroom, and fried egg): The burger is huge and looked extremely good. I did not eat this as someone else in our party had it. They enjoyed the burger a lot - said the flavor and texture was on point.Kimchi Fried Rice $15.50 (kimchi, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, fried egg): I did not have this but it looked extremely delicious and the person in our group said its something they ordered repeatedly.Chicken Karaage Kids Meal $6 (boneless fried chicken with sweet and tangy house sauce, served with fries).RESTAURANT/INTERIOR:Clean and minimal restaurant. They didnt have the full seating due to the pandemic (I assume). If its a concern to anyone, they did not space the tables 6 feet apart which is fine as the restaurant is pretty small. There was one row of tables on one side of the restaurant that was not available for seating. The restaurant did provide disposable tissue next to every door (main door and restrooms) for customers to use so no one has to touch the handles directly.STAFF:Everyone was friendly. The front of the house team was pretty much on top of everything - knew regulars by name, delivered the food and also offered to get utensils and napkins for each person, etc.My only issue with the team was food service was kind of slow. I'm not sure if its due to short staff or a lot of to-go orders but when we first ordered and sat down, I noticed none of the tables had their food and the restaurant was pretty full.
the best burger I've had in a very long time
Forget all other nearby burger places. This is the best burger by far. It’s not even close. This is so freakin good. Fry dipping sauce is so tasty. Also, they have more than just burgers. These folks are CHEFS. I’d come here every day if my wife would let me…. Oh wait she just said yes. I’m coming here every day!
This place is AMAZING. First time here and I will 100% be a regular. Customer service was wonderful, fries were great and their glass noodle salad was so good it had me eating tomatoes, which I hate.
The most delicious and accommodating place in Kikrland! Great selection of burgers but not only. I have a few dietary restrictions and food allergies, staff is always very accommodating, creative and welcoming. With strip mall pricing you get real chef quality.
I went here for the 1st time last year during the pandemic and ordered the loco Moco. And came back another time to try the Hawaiian fried chicken. Both very delicious!! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something filling. I come back here every single time!
Excellent food, phenomenal service! We will definitely eat here again. They were slammed on a Tuesday night, yet the manager (who was taking orders in person and on the phone, serving, and helping in the kitchen) was friendly, kind and professional. The whole family raved about how great the food was.
I would definitely go there again.Great fusion choices in the menu. The buns were much more upscale and they had a great tases and texture. The burgers and fries we order were very good. The restaurant was very clean as was the kitchen.
The staff are super friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and has great umami flavor. The dine in area is spaced out and very clean. Such a great place to dine at for a casual night out. They’re da best place for some of those most reminiscent Hawaii flavors.
The Chicken Karage is amazing and the Burger selection is incredible
