I arrived at 7:45, lady told me they close at 8pm. I showed her the website that states 8:30. She gave me a hard time but sat me and my son down. When I ordered food she said it was too much, I told her that it was what I wanted. They don't use any cream cheese in their sushi wasn't even that good and after that type of service I will not be returning.

I didn’t want give the rating but I had to rate them. So I picked the three stars. I wanted to read the comments before I go this Japanese restaurant as I do always. After I read all comments, my conclusion is that this place has good Japanese foods, but too expensive. If you have no issue with money, then go for it. But for myself I have to spend at least $200 or more and $250 with couple drinks. I am wondering why they charge too much. Supply and demand? These days people think that the higher price the better product. My friend recommended this place and warned me the high price. Now I see why he said that. I am still thinking….

This Japanese restaurant is one of the best i have ever tried. The customer service was incredibly amazing. The food was delivered perfectly, Apitzerrs then our main dish and then desert.I am removing 2 stars away because the old lady rush to give the bill out and as a fine dining that doesn't seem to be acceptable at all.the reciept was over 150$ for 2 peopleBut the food was pretty good and I am sushi lover and I can definitely recommend this location. But the bill and the way they try to rush customers out are disrespectful.

I have been a regular to Izumi for a few years now. In fact, I religiously had take out every Friday during the pandemic to support the restaurant. So I was happy to finally be able to go back in person. Unfortunately, I am really on the fence if I ever will go again. I was there with a colleague, i.e., work dinner. Got there at 4:50 on a Friday, walked in and asked for Omakase at the sushi bar. We got a standard table BY the bar, while some Japanese family got to sit AT the bar. Left some aftertaste of bias against white people... We ordered Omakase in the hope we would get it nicely paced piece by piece, but it all came at once (see photo) and felt completely done without any effort or pride of the chef. To add insult to injury, after being there for 75 min (!!!) we are asked to leave so they could have the table. Da f*k? Frankly, never going back in person and only might order take out. Izumi, you lost someone that supported you for years. If you are tired of the grind, then move on. Just don't pull stuff like that.

Food is decent but wait times are long and if you want to order ahead for pick up they simply ignore their phones. $40 for a plate of sashimi is on the pricy side but their fish isn't really worth the price. We each had sashimi with a combo and also ordered a large sashimi on the side. The fish was the same with two extra types fish. The salmon sashimi tasted fishy in the large platter and was worst than the sashimi in the combo. Our take out experience was not great. Just wanted one sashimi platter. We tried called the whole time we drove there 20 min drive and they said wait for one sashimi platter was 45 mins.

Excellent traditional Japanese restaurant. It's been a while since I had food with tastes that echoed the smells of fresh coastline.

Izumi is the place for authentic Japanese food!Their place gets full as soon as they open so arrive on time or a little after.Their staff is very friendly.Their food is delicious, fish is always fresh.

Probably the best sushi in Kirkland. One of the chefs at Sushi Kashiba recommended it to me and I'm not disappointed!! Try their matcha icecream too. Just be careful, if yiu go there for dinner, be prepared to wait for about an hour to be seated.

TLDR: They DECEIVED Customers. If you order sashimi omakase, count the amount of fish you ordered before eating. They lied on the amount of pieces of sashimi and made up the number in front of you, and told you: “don’t worry”.Basically we ordered sashimi omakase 12 pc(1 cut in 2 based on the grandma’s explanations. So 6/7 types only, while sushi omakase has double amount of types with the same price) but we only have 11. The grandma just counted in front of us till 11, and then, she pointed to the air above the top right of the plate saying “12”. We asked “wait a minute, where is the “12”?” She just answered: “don’t worry” and leave…Help me find the 12 which she explained looool. My next step will be reporting this restaurant.

Great Japanese food, period. I was impressed by how large and super tasty the fish on the sushi were. My wife ordered the curry udon. Oh my, that was sooooo good ?.
