Great breakfast, and I do mean GREAT! We tried dinner however and were so disappointed. Pot roast was not "fall apart" and was not edible. Literally couldn't eat any of it after the first bite as it looked like it was previously frozen and smelled a bit gamey. Mashed potatoes were fantastic and the vegetables were PERFECT...not overcooked!Baked spaghetti sounded delicious but surprisingly had little flavor. We will definitely be back for breakfast though!
Loved the breakfast here. Came here twice in 6 days and admittedly, ordered the same thing both times - my daughter ordered the avocado toast with side of hash browns and I ordered the half sized village omelet. Excellent.
Overall this was a 4. The restaurant has sane issues as most with getting help so were understaffed. It was brunch time in a sunny day and they had a full house. Once I was seated the service was quick. Olga was efficient and friendly as she took my order. I chose biscuits and gravy which is something I try in multiple places just to compare. The biscuits were top of line-flaky and fresh. Gravy was middle of the road. The place was very clean including the bathroom.
The best breakfast I've had in a long time! I had the Lumberjack plate (Two HUGE pancakes, three HUGE strips of bacon and two fried eggs), I had to push myself to finish because the portions were so large. This was quality AND quantity for a very fair price. The bacon was outstanding, the bacon strips were extra thick, probably the best bacon I've ever had and there was plenty of it. Great coffee as well, strong and full-bodied. The pancakes were delicious, I couldn't believe the size and finishing two of them was a challenge but I had to because they were so good. The eggs were fried to perfection as well, absolutely nothing to complain about. The service was great, they were pretty busy but we were seated within five minutes and our server was attentive and very friendly.I don't often write reviews unless I'm really impressed and George's did just that, now I'm off to go into a food coma...
The okay-est eggs benny I've had in a long time. I went with the eggs karkinagri since the restaurant boasts Greek roots, but the gyro patty was barely spiced and the hollandaise had a slightly sweet flavor that didn't meld well with the bland feta crumbles. It looks better than it tastes. The bloody mary was also very...okay, points for decent garnish and the coffee was lovely, so at least there is that.I'm sure it's a solid daily breakfast spot otherwise. Moderately busy on an early Saturday morning.
Great place for a family gathering. We had 3 generations of family there and we all felt welcome and the food was great. The service was polite, courteous and prompt. Very good overall. My only ask would be to take reservations. We were going to the Christmas boat in the afternoon and it was kind of dicey to get the timing lined up. It worked out, but the ability make a reservation would have helped alleviate some stress.Beyond that, Kirkland parking SUCKS. Be prepared to pay or park not close if looking for free. The time limits are different based on where you are parking, so keep that in mind too.
Used to love going here, but I don't think we will be back. Had lunch today and one of our order's was a veggie grinder. We were given a small amount of cold chopped up veggies on plain white bread and a sprinkle of cheese. It tasted bland and was nothing like the menu description. Homegrown next door does amazing veggie sandwiches- we will go there from now on. Service was poor- we were rarely checked on. I bet this is due to staffing issues which I do not blame the staff for, but maybe George's should limit seating so their staff is not overwhelmed. Truly disappointing meal and too high priced for what we got.
This place is horrible. I ordered an omelette and they didn’t give salsa, so I asked for a salsa and they charged an extra $2 for the salsa. The servers all had attitudes. Then they have these rules like you can’t sit down at a table if you’re still waiting on someone else. Something about their store policy, which totally puts their customers last and restaurant first.
We are experiencing all sorts of cuisine whilst staying in Kirkland, discovering what it is about the American lifestyle that our family are loving, since they moved out here. George's is a favourite haunt of theirs for breakfast and so we walked down, along snowy pavements, to find a warm welcome one morning. Too cold for the outside seating, but buzzing inside. Think fusion - typical American dishes but with a Greek themed twist. It works! Being from the UK, we are very familiar with Greek ingredients and so were suitably fascinated by the idea of Gyro (kebab) meat and feta as an omelette filling - American sized portions meant that a half omelette was ample. One mistake I made - Hash Browns - my British experience of these are pre-formed little triangles of potato and onion, rather greasy. Based on this I asked to swap the hash browns for country potatoes, which were rather bland. My other half stuck with the hash browns and received the US version, shredded potato and onion - very tasty - much more like a potato rosti. Check out the menu, lots of choice - savoury and sweet - for meat lovers, vegans and vegetarians or just the traditionalist or even the adventurer. Staff were polite and friendly, happy to give the hard of thinking a little more decision time! A lovely atmosphere inside (maybe something to do with the well-stocked bar?!!) which might indicate a high return rate amongst customers. Definitely worth your custom.
Food is good but $50+ for breakfast for two is pretty damn expensive even for Kirkland. Portions have also gotten smaller. Service is great though.I like this place best during the summer when they open up the side of the restaurant.
