We've had better here some few years ago, but our June, 2022 lunch was just ok, not bad but not terrific. I had the chile relleno which was not offered with any meat filling, a disappointment for me. Our pleasant and helpful server, Haley, offered a side of meat, brisket or pull beef, and while that was nice, it wasn't the same. My wife had the prawn & kale salad. It was fine but unnoteworthy. All portions were reasonable. Parking, at lunch time, was a bear; be forewarned.
Their Pico de Gallo is soooo good!!
Maybe kirkland just isn't the place to find a good eggs benedict and bloody mary.I had real high hopes for cactus. I could hear that brisket benedict calling my name! But alas, it's easy on the eyes but tough and tasteless at the core. The brisket is rough - if you grew up in, or have ever been a town/city/or state where they don't abuse their meat, you won't like this; I'm surprised PETA isn't busting down the door because what they've done to this poor piece of cow is real gnarly. It's very reminiscent of beef jerky. Texas is crying and every NY deli is giving this brisket the side eye.The eggs were poached in a cup(shame), the biscuit was hard, thin, and a little burnt(and somehow still flavorless) and that amazing looking hollandaise was all talk and no action. The strongest flavor was a muddled chili essence that could have equally been hatch or jalapeno. The breakfast potatoes were the winner of the whole show. They got all the flavor that everything else should have had and the crunch/texture were everything you've ever wanted in a daybreak spud. The bloody mary was interesting, however it did fail on a few points (strength/presentation/flavor/accessories) the strength and presentation were fine, but the flavor was overwhelmingly jalapeno and cilantro. This would be great if the tomato juice balanced it out, but it falls a little flat and the salted rim just couldn't pack enough flavor to recover. The garnish is theoretically good and practically terrible: the jícama was dry and the jalapeno was sweet pickled so together it was like sipping the bottom of a watered down sweet tea
This is a great spot to stop and catch your breath while shopping in the area. We had nachos, ceviche and margaritas. The presentation of the ceviche almost made you not want to dig in and spoil it -but we managed. It was delicious. The drinks were very good. The service was very friendly and efficient. We were treated to a flan on the house as it was our first trip to Kirkland! A lovely touch. Thank you! The restaurant is located in a vibrant area of great shopping and just a very short walk from the lake.
This place is great for a get together with your friends, family or even for a date night. Service is great and their outdoor seating arrangement is great too. We had amazing service, food and time at Cactus.
In the past we have enjoyed the food and service at Cactus. This trip I did not even try it.Arrived around 4:15 Friday afternoon. Four employees at the hostess podium none were able to acknowledge we were standing in front of them waiting to be seated or at least greeted. Not worth our time and money for snobby service and overpriced food.
Usually have the incredible shrimp tacos. But for brunch had the eggs benedict with beef. Green chili hollandaise sauce is delicious without being too rich. Really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Great and fun atmosphere. Delicious food. A modern kind-of twist on Mexican food. Tamales were excellent and spicier than I expected which was great. My only criticism is that you have to pay for chips and salsa they are not complimentary
Cactus has great Mexican food always will find a seat at the bar service is good. Many options to choose different food, drinks.
We came in on a Tuesday night. Everywhere else was quite empty, but this place needed to wait for 45 min. We knew we got to wait! The food os delicious! We got the nachos, steak, and shrimp taco
