Food was delicious, service was excellent and definitely will try other items on the menu.

We stopped here after our daughter's dance recital. The menu was nice and simple, and the food was absolutely delicious!!! Kiddo had the kids chicken strips...a three piece. The strips were huge...so she finished two and a half of them. Hubby had the fried chicken. It was three huge wings...which he just devoured. Me...I had the catfish. It was two filets nicely breaded and the Nana's sauce was perfect to dip it in. Between us we had sides of mac n cheese, collard greens and potato salad each was flavorful and very well made. Hubby thought the collard greens were like he used to have when he lived in Lousiville, KY. Add to this, the woman behind the counter (who seemed to be running the show) was friendly and just a wonderful personality! The prices may seem high, but the portions are big and the flavors are worth it. We will be back!

Food was delicious. The greens are vegetarian and full of flavor.Mac and cheese taste like good homemade. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.I ordered to go, but my family and I are definitely going back to sit down and eat?♥️

Let me start off by saying, i’ve eaten southern food in Arkansas and Louisiana and Alabama and Kentucky. And those restaurants pale in comparison to this one. Everything from staff to the food was just wonderful. Catfish fried chicken and potato salad are my favorites. I also like the pork chops. Wish I could eat there every day but I Live in Boise Idaho however I always tell my friends who live in Seattle to go

I had the 2 mains and 2 sides. The catfish was out of this world, fresh fried, flaky, and delicious. I had a problem with the tartar sauce. They give you 1 small cup. I told them it wasn’t enough. It was 50 cents for another small cup. I found myself rationing the amount of tartar sauce I used with each bite. The pork chops were 2 wafer thin pieces. Tasted like they were fried awhile ago. Not fresh. It was like pork leather. I ordered NaNa’s sauce. It came in a larger cup than the tartar sauce. It definitely helped those sad pork chops. My sides were collard greens and mac and cheese. They were good, especially the collard greens. The cornbread wasn’t finished. It was like dessert cornbread, sweet. And the corn mill wasn’t cooked all the way which made it grainy. If you plan on eating in your car, ask for silverware. They won’t give it to you unless you ask for it. I had to go back in to get it. When you cash out, be careful. They automatically set the tip at 20%. For takeout, REALLY!!! They did get me for a 7% service fee for “inflation”. Said they didn’t want to change the prices on the menu, in case the prices came down. I didn’t see the charge until I was in my car. As good as the catfish was, I won’t be back.

I went there for a ladies luncheon and it was delicious! The tenders were juicy and flavorful, I LOVE their string beans and potato salad! Everyone enjoyed their meals ranging from the catfish, to the pork chops to the shrimp. Everyone was so friendly, the food was on point and the tea was perfectly sweet! I'll be back.

Our family just had an amazing lunch at Nana’s Southern Kitchen. The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken wings, Mac and cheese, green beans, collard greens and potato salad. The food was amazing but even more so amazing were the people, particularly Kyan. She made all of us feel welcome and part of her family. We were so glad we met her today, she is pure joy and spreads love to all she meets. This was our first time but certainly not our last. We will definitely be back!

First, I honestly really really really want to like this place. The story, the idea, the people are amazing. The execution not so much. The chicken tenders were tasteless, and a bit dry. The Mac n cheese noodles were mushy, and the cheese had long since separated. Cornbread was good. The sweet potatoes were very sweet with lots of spices. All in all, I was disappointed. And extremely blue because I so wanted to be in love with this place.

Saw this place in Door Dash and happened to be by it when going to a local dessert shop, so it was at the top of my list for places to try in Kent.Ordered the 2 Mains and 2 Sides, got the Catfish and Fried Chicken with the Collard Greens and Mac and Cheese as the sides. The Fried Chicken was amazing! It was 4 pieces of perfectly fried wings, like the entire wing, not the buffalo wind wing size. The Catfish wasn't blackened, but it was amazing! The Nana's Sauce was phenomenal with the Catfish. To be honest, I only got to try a bite or two with the sauce, since the catfish was so good and I just ate it super quick. The Collard Greens were the biggest surprise, since I generally have a bland or overly garlic expectation, based off having them at work's cafeteria.... Nana's had so much flavor, it had a pickle-y smell to it, but the flavor was nice and full with some spicy. Best Collard Greens I've had outside of Texas.Lastly, the Mac and Cheese was the best restaurant Mac and Cheese I've ever eaten. Nice and peppery, full cheesey flavor, and included well cooked noodles. There are lots of times Mac and Cheese is missing something, such as the flavor of cheese because of poor quality, seasoning to stand out, or the noodles are over cooked. Nana's hit this side dish out of the park, probably won't order without the Mac and Cheese in the future.Overall, this is one of the best places in Kent I've tried so far and does a great job of balancing food with price.

Best cat fish I have ever eaten. Really enjoyed the Mac and cheese and the cabbage. I would love to try the greens but was afraid since they didn’t use meat what the flavor would be like. Since this was my first time here I was worried and had so many options. The sweet potato pie was good. Chocolate cake was good but I don’t care for their frosting . Very sweet. Also do not my potato salad sweet. So I would never get that. My friend had the pork chops and she said they are bomb as well!! I might do one of each next time. Definitely will try the yams. I will definitely drive over an hour to eat here. I do not understand why people are not lined up outside to get in!!!
