I got my food Doordash-ed so I wouldn’t know what the customer service was like but I ordered the pad kee mao (tofu) and it was incredible. Saucy, tasty, and overall delicious 10/5 loved it I didn’t even finish it because I got full after a few bites. I also got my siblings the pad Thai dish and they loved it as well can’t wait to come here in person.
We were in the area and found this gem of a restaurant on google. We were going to order takeout but we were greeted so warmly at the door, that we decided to dine in. The server was super friendly and attentive without making us feel like he was hovering. We ordered the pork pad kee mao, chicken yellow curry, chicken pad see ew, chicken pad prig khing and mango with sticky rice. Even with having so many take out orders ahead of ours, the food came out in a timely manner. Honestly, even if we had to wait longer it would have been worth it. The food was SOOOO good that we forgot to even take pictures! The meat was tender, and spice levels were as expected as we had our kids with us. Portions were big, we ended up having to take some home even after we stuffed our faces ?. I don’t know what all the fuss is about having bad service here from other reviews, but we had great service and great food. While we were there, we saw that they also gave free food to the homeless that came to the door. I truly believe in good karma, and it showed by how busy this restaurant was. We’ll definitely be back for more!!
Welcome to Grandma's house. This place appears to be a house that has been converted into a restaurant. The $12 lunch special drew us in, which had a myriad of options and included a curry, rice, egg rolls, and pad Thai. Nowhere else have I seen such a varied and abundant assortment of food as a Thai lunch special. Egg rolls were crispy and came with the house sauce, pad Thai was perfect; not overseasoned, over-sauced, or overcooked; and the curry was creamy and coconuty. Will come back soon for more of Grandma's cooking.I enjoy spicy foods and ordered heat level 3, which was just right for a comforting meal. Heat level 4 would have been my idea of a spicy, exciting meal.
If you live in the South End/Kent area - or if you're just looking for an amazing place to eat - you have to visit Grandma Thai or order out. The food is wonderful and authentic (I lived in Thailand for 12 years) and the woman who owns it is an amazing, sweet and giving person. Trust me on this. You won't regret supporting this small business.
You really should rethink turning customers away on this current climate. Unbelievable. We walk in on a Friday afternoon and you turn us away because you're taking a break? Really!?. Guess what? We won't be returning. We went down the street and discovered a better Thai restaurant. Greatest Thai will be getting our business from here on out. Your loss.

26jan2022 ~12:00 Swee and i arrived at Grandma Thai Cusine, Kent WA for lunch. We were the only 2 to dine-in. i noticed Grandma were busy preparing for many called-in Takeout orders. Anyway, we didn't have to wait long before we got our Pad See Ew and Red Curry ? The servings were generous .. we can't finish it .. so "doggie bagged" the remainings for dinner ? Grandma was clean and neat; un-pretentious and cozy. The Staff were friendly, courteous and kind ?
Last night, I ordered crab fried rice and yellow curry with chicken. Everything smelled well but once I started to eat the crab fried rice, to my disappointment egg shells and shells from shrimp's seemed to be part of the ingredients. Will never give them my business ever again.
Everything was delicious & so full of flavor! The service was great! We dined in & ordered Beef Lad Na, Chicken Panang curry, Grandma's garlic chicken wings (not pictured) and garlic chicken and veggies. Thai is my #1 favorite kind of food, I didn't know about this spot until one of my girls brought some take out over a few wkends ago. I'll definitely be coming back!
