I've never tried Guatemala food before. The food here is very tasty and well presented. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious. Everything was fantastic. I really want to come back and try their breakfast dishes.
my family and i came to visit seattle and we visited this nice restaurant, seems to be the only guatemalan restaurant that is in the city, the food is delicious, we will definitely come back
We called Antigua for a pickup order of 2 pupusas ($4/each so $8 total), a Dobladas de res o pollo ($9.99/each), I asked for a chicken and a beef. The hostess said it would be $26. I thought the pupusas were less than $4/each so I thought the math added up. My bf went to pick up the food and when he came back, we only had the pupusas and one order of the Dobladas. We called them to ask about it and they said they thought I asked for one of the Dobladas to be beef and the rest chicken. Okay, my bad for not being super clear but when we hung up, we realized the Dobladas were all chicken, no beef anywhere. Also, if they only charged us for only one Dobladas, shouldn't the bill have been closer to $20 with taxes??? The math just doesn't add up to me.The food itself was pretty bland. They didn't give us any sauce or salad for the pupusas like how they pictured it so it was very dry and the chicken Dobladas were soggy, it didn't look crunchy like the pictures. We were only 5 minutes away and we've had fries in the car for 15 minutes that were crunchier. The chicken in the Dobladas also tasted like they just boiled it. Pretty disappointing overall. We didn't have enough food but I lost my appetite after eating some of their stuff anyway. At least they were fast but I wouldn't go here again.
This place would get a five if based on the food alone. Nice, clean environment so we went back to have some of this yummy cuisine. However, service was worse than the first time. Very slow and unfriendly. Great food, not so great service.
The food is good, my husband ordered a churrasco chapin and he said that the steak was very good. It comes with guacamole, rice, a potatoe salad, and offcourse the tortillas. The plate is big, and can feed 2 people.I ordered the chicharron con yuca, and it was ok, wasn't exactly what I was expecting since the chicharon was more like fried pork, but the sauce and the cabbage salad were really good. Also, the yuca seems to be the frozen yuca, and it tasted it differently.Overal the place is good since the food tasted good.
Love this place. We went on Saturday for breakfast. We all got the breakfast with fried plantation, refried black beans, eggs and handmade tortillas . Oh man. The refried black beans are hands down the best I’ve ever had and the plantain were sweet and crispy, absolutely perfect. We’re Guatemalan on my moms side and this gave me abuelita home cooking vibes, In the very best sense of the word. Lots of authentic Guatemalan options, including pepian, which I’ve never seen on a menu and will definitely get the next time. Interior decoration is very well done, homey and refined. Staff was pleasant. Definitely will be back for more. Thanks for making this Guatemanteca feel like mom was cooking just for me.
We are from Guatemala and when we saw that they had a Guatemalan restaurant we went there. The food had no flavor and I ordered a pepian to go. Next day I was eating my food I found a long hair around my chicken. The tamales didn't tasted good at all
Yum! The plátanos fritos and black beans with sour cream and queso fresco, dobladas, tamalito de chipilin, and chicken chuchitos were oh so flavorful. Their chicken broth with rice and vegetables hit the right spot (not on the menu)! Great dish presentation and fantastic costumer service! Plus, the bathrooms are very clean and nicely decorated. My only recommendation is to improve the coffee and its presentation. Guatemalan coffee should be part of the spotlight! Looking forward to return and have a cup of un ‘cafecito con leche’.
